A60(+) Amplifier. Build this?

I buy from a supplier from Japan. They are original, but as a rule, even the originals cannot match complementary pairs 1:1. The question is, is it necessary to very carefully select the same ones in terms of gain? In the emitter circuits in the circuit there are 0.25 ohm resistors. In Dartzeel they are not there and I think they need to be selected there. Is there such a need in the A60?

Hello everyone. Guys, I have a question. Is it possible to connect the output transistors to the boards with 7-8 cm wires in the A60+? Will there be any excitement? The project involves making monoblocks, a board in the center, transistors on the radiators on the left and right.🙄

Hello Everyone ,
I recently bought a complete set of A60++ modules from a fellow diy'er here in the Netherlands and mounted them on a huge ( 400Watt) single heatsink ..
The guy who sold it to me has told me to be carefull with the applied voltage and not to go higher than a certain Voltage because the transistor type he chooce for this modules . Genuine selected and matched pairs onsemi MJL .
I followed his advice and must say that this amplifier provides extreme good sound . Needless to say I'm very pleased with it 😉

Couldn't resist to order another pair of the bare A60++ pcb's along with a pair of the bare A60 V1.1 pcb's from a chinese seller .

Can anyone advice me were to get the Onsemi genuine MJL transistor pairs , preferably matched etc. ? or perhaps even better modern power transistors can be used with this design ?

Any advice is welcome , and thank you for this great thread !!!

TIA ,

Strong Believer Hello, if you read the entire thread, then this question has already been asked. Answer, this amplifier plays perfectly with any good output transistors, including 1943/5200. Soon, if possible I am planning a new expensive project A60++. Why 2 pluses? These are large monoblocks. I will use them again in it, since they were supplied to me original, and I like the sound, although the seller is Chinese. I gave the link here, if necessary I will post it again.

You're right @Paroxod4, hi others... 😎👍
Quality of this amplifier isn't in the choice of some particular output transistors - it is the entire amplifier that creates sound. I have tried several and all were good. Indistinguishable. Original output transistors from both Toshiba and ON Semi are mature products with consistent quality. It is impossible to find perfect PNP/NPN match, but they have prety close beta, 95-110. But, due to the output structure, it appears that such diference has no impact. I have meassured output devices with curve tracer and they look incredibly similar due to consistent quality. In my humble opinion, the main advantage of this amplifier is excellent frequency response practically from DC to a couple of 100KHz. Also, I have shown how amazingly great square wave response it has. Currently I use it with Topping E70V DAC. It sounds much better than my previous Marantz.
Currently, I am experimenting with LM3886 and TDA7293 chip amps, out of curiosity, noting serioys, just for fun. Then, during winter I plan to make new own heawy chassis - a tank. This amplifier deserves it.

Where to get none fake versions of those transistors? All from China is fakes I think.

Output transistors should be originals and they aren't expensive. Recently I've purchased from Mouser a bunch of original Toshibas for the future needs. Who knows how long they will be available. By the way, even for Europeans Mouser seems to be the best choice. They have everything, at reasonable pricing and delivery is blazingly fast. I get things from Texas quicker than from Germany. Germans lag behind more and more. Recently, I spoke to my regular supplier of chemicals. I've told him that Germany turns into Mexico. Once they were proffesionals, not any more. Europe as a whole lags a lot. Once an industrial powerhouse turns into a bunch of weaklings. Unfortunately.

I already wrote here that I had a pair of original 2sa1943/2sc5200 transistors. Since the European and American markets are now closed to us, I found a seller on Aliexpress who claimed that he had a Toshiba and bought a kit for the A60 from him. When I received them, I tested them and compared them with my original ones, all the parameters, capacity and crystal size were completely the same. I have no mistrust of the seller. Visit his store and look. This is not an advertisement, but a help. https://aliexpress.ru/item/10050027...l.0.0.74314aa6xdqEcw&sku_id=12000022178560040
