Reading posts again think you right lost in translation by me, hope shine through it was kindly offered with open mind from beginning to end trying to be witty.Methinks my comment to Bob was "lost in translation."
Based on maximum number of files downloaded the attrition rate for someone who listens to one track and votes is 25.5%. Based on the smallest number of downloads, assuming that represents the number of people who have downloaded and listened to all tracks, the voting rate is 78%. Seems reasonable - 1/4 who view thread are interested enough to play. 3/4 who play end up casting a vote as they are the "serious" players. The results have pretty much been stable over past 3 days and I don't expect much more to change with a few more days. Rather than waiting thru weekend I propose revealing by later today - I propose by midnight GMT, all shall be revealed shortly afterwards. What do you guys think?
I think there will be weekend players.
If you must, you could start a weekend only poll with the driver order remixed, then close this poll and announce the drivers for discussion.

Reveal by midnight. I'm dying to know and things won't change significantly now, as you say. ;-)

I took your comment as a joke. My "rolling on the floor" emoticon got displaced a post because I didn't quote you.
Bob
I'd let it run till Sunday evening GMT.

+1 a week seems fair enough.

I figure that there's gotta be a lot of half-deaf audio folk out there judging by how some of the votes are piling up 😀

Indeed. It was a joke, Bob. 🙂

Agreed😀
The problem here though is that your playback system and the way in which things were recorded can skew things quite considerably. For example if one speaker is considerably brighter than the others and your system is a tad dull, or you're old and your hearing is rolling off then you will probably prefer the brighter sounding system. On the other hand if many of the listeners are used to hearing unnatural full range systems, then they may pick what they are used to, even if it's not accurate. I dunno, it will be interested to see the results.
For what its worth, two of the examples, at least to me, were much nicer than the others to listen to, one of them was a total disaster. What they are...nobody knows! Well apart from the OP.

Yup.

D gets my vote as being the one I 'enjoyed' the most.
E is the one I'd run far away from.
I can still hear the delay and hiss.
Listening was conducted at 'home', not man cave flat.
Time for me to get on the rollers (cycle training).... Mozart piano concertos via cheap-o boombox in garage 🙂

Why the need to continually explain away any results that diverge from your own preferences and judgments? 😕I figure that there's gotta be a lot of half-deaf audio folk out there judging by how some of the votes are piling up 😀

Maybe you are feeling defensive about your wrong vote 😀
I made a grading for each piece of music.
Curiously I found more difficult to tell differences in the jazz section than with the two others.
Finally, I had two preferences.
I found that the more detailed was nevertheless a bit colored,
the second one being neutral but not lacking of life as most others do.

I'm guessing that my dislike for the rock clip is because of the original recording. I'm guessing that the recording was not the original release but a "best of" remaster that was severely compressed and clipped. My system does not take kindly to that type of remastering. I have a pair of FF165WK speakers that might do better. I might just relisten to that clip of the Fostex's.
Or this might just be the grumblings of a grumpy old man.

Sincere apologies, I had confused you with someone else who had been making comments along those lines earlier in the thread. 😱It was a joke.

The rock clip is only music clip I own myself (vinyl), yet I skipped it after 25 attempts or so, I also only used listening to Norah clip and used jazz clip to confirm, yet I listened on Sony headphones I never listened befor, reading about these Sony afterwards I must say it is possibly to bright, 240df I cant find, k1000 I gave away as gift, must have Jecklin somewhere too...could have tried electrostatic speakers and MA P70 Pensils and others, but used headphones as ordered🙂 Simple Sony's, must say I was not bothered with hiss, didn't hear it, golden ears gone maybe🙂

I dunno, I'm 43 and I've been moaning and taking 'silver beer mats' back to stores for 20 years.
I found the rock clip sounded best on the driver I'd run from.
