I know that my version (Delta, blue caps) was built in the first decade of 2000, about 10 years or a bit less after than yours (Alpha or near, orange caps); fixing system of trafo is different too compared to mine (there's a sort of plint in yours while mine is fixed through rubber puds and screws. Comparing in detail them would be quite difficult, isn't it?I would estimate the age to be around 22-23 years.
Then also the usual issues when reusing classic stuff like cracked rubber grommets, brittle plastics suddenly breaking off, corroded metal, solder joints that are weak etc. It's a choice with guaranteed follow up work to do. Always something to do! 🙂

Mine were exactly like yours. What you can see now is my adaptation for use in a different amp.

Please let me understand, why it seems a C-core rather than a UI-core?Re sound: If you look closely at the picture in post 1, you will notice that the transformer is a C-core. Primary and secondary on separate bobbins. This results in a much "softer" coupling compared to a toroid, and it`s intentional to get the sound that he, YBA, wants. So, whilst it`s no problem replacing the stock transformer with a doughnut, it totally alters the timbre of the amp.

Isn't C-core based on this kind of core:
and UI-core based on this one:
The structure of YBA trafo seems more similar to the second, isn't it?
