The 50Vdc from 35Vac transformer varies with mains voltage. This applies when regulation ~4%
It can be as low as 48Vdc and as high as 53Vdc

If you double this from a 70Vac tapping then the maximum voltage could be as high as 106Vdc.
If regulation is >>4%, then the worst case highest voltage can be >>100Vdc

I would not do that !
