Alright then.
P.S. This PS1 looks conseptually like a MOSFET MAIDA as I had mentioned in a previous post. The M-MAIDA uses an Enhancement MOSFET IRF840 and LM317T. In this one the HV shielding component is a Depletion MOSFET. IXYS one. The reg chip is a low drop out 3A. Stick 1K stopper resistor where it says G if it will give you trouble again in another application. And/or exchange the IXYS with a Supertex DN2540. Make sure its insulated to its sink. Having no direct experience with that reg, just a guess.

then use some of shunt regs floating around
believe me - mucho better than series
disclaimer - no commercial interest in shunts floating around
(after all - if you make it by your self , nobody will have commercial interest )

HV shunties are sensitive and dangerous items to muck about much with btw. Smoke on the water, fire in the sky.😀😀😀
(Although all the guys who made hardwired shunties for this pre got them right, but they are expert builders).

OK, next question, to bypass the Auricaps with some russian PIO or not? I have some k40y9's kicking around...

I thinka i can argue with this claim. Which part is obvious, i think😀 Hush ZM!
OK, I rephrase, ''expert builders plus one expert in building schematics but not in tweaking them''.😀
Im the snake charmer at Camden Market. I just talk about the snakes but I never show them. Actually the dusty 6V6 plank found her self a new plank today. Gonna see what a proper linear setup can do. Got a new pair of 99 dB speakers with Faital 15XA38Nd pro elements home today. Gosh it was emberrassing to hear every scrappy detail of the rest of the soundchain.
faital or beyma , ya funny Swede ?

I was just checking if you were awake or drunk as a DoDo

Have still not implemented a Salas HV shunt unit in the preamp. But did find out that the hiss was not from the 6V6 preamp but from my DAC output stage. Just thought I would post that for posterity.
Not yet. Salas. I'm not in diy mode at the moment. Haven't been listening much either lately. 🙁Found how to fix the DAC though?
[edit]Kids are ruling my home now. Game-ing or watching telly.
I miss my 6v6. It's on the update table.
me too, I shouldn't take it down for the psu. I'd like to build another 6v6 with SSHV2 so to compare to my 26.
