Just ordered matched quads of Tungsol. I couldn't find info on whether it was dnt or not. Must admit only looked at JJ datasheet, which is limited. Don't know if there is some other indication as I am a newborn. Since I will be getting Mills, how about PRP or kiwame. Not real expensive.
Could you post a pic please?
I will later photo's are on my home computer. I posted some picts earlier of the grommets. I have also put the the test chassis on accoustic felt to further decouple it. Dead quiet now.
PRP metal film, Kiwame carbon film. For tubes I will choose Kiwame.
I know. Looking for preferences.

Anybody ever tried suspending them like mics?

My preference:
1st Mills
2nd Kiwame

Thanks Gregory, I will appreciate your input because I need to know how to do for my #26 tube preamp.
Look at post #81 the schematic there has more details and additions. That one you posted was the first core idea. Still not wrong.
So for the sake of simplicity, i can just follow the mentioned schematics and the amp would still sound great right. Thanks.
Yes, but he must use a regulator for ''great''. With just CLC there will be some hum.
Perhaps an appropriately designed CLCLC (PSUD can help here) will suffice, but that last filter cap should be probably be a very high quality film cap.
I'm re-evaluating the whole regulator thing in the light of recent experience.

Kevin,
Care to expand your comment reguarding recent experience. Was your recent experience pro or con regulator?
My experience with regulators has been nothing but positive till I do something stupid with them.

Ditto. Finishing up a 12B4 preamp now, and getting ripple/noise below -125dB with cascode CCS into gas regulator tubes. If there is a reason to change this method, I am all ears.
I've been using gas regulators tubes on my 26 preamp for convenience and beauty, but the SS shunt regulator is quieter. The tube regulator still gives me a "whoosh" type of noise. It's not bothering me, but it's not like the SS shunt regulator which gives you that "black" background.

Hey, that's actively regulating too. Not counting with the CLCLC guys. 3 to 2. 😀
I see there's been no mention of 6BW6. As it is a 6V6 in B9A package it may offer better (lower) microphonics. Anyone treid them?
