Yes I think that's push pull but its a hybrid which won't suite some as Q1 and Q3 will play in the distorsion.

You are absolutely right here, but it is just a design idea.
I did not (yet) build it to test the adding to the THD of my
already realized design. So..... just an idea.
Broskie published a CF configuration for 32 Ohm adding a negative supply for the collector of Q1 but I did not like that. I will keep in mind that you do not need a lot of power for getting a "fairly loud" result : around 10.2 mW into 32 Ohm. Will see what the end result will look like. Perhaps I will reject the configuration in the end.....

I have now built this one:
It sounds realy good,I use ECC99 as the output tube as it gives a little wider soundstage.I can play really loud before distortion commes.I can even use HD650 but it won´t play as loud as the philips.But loud enough.

Stick a photo on here would like to see it. You may want to put a 10K across the headphone jack just so you don't get a loud click if you plug them in with the unit on.

As LTspice calculated, the plate dissipation using ECC99
almost reaches 3W which is the max. allowed dissipation.
Can't you use the 6N6P for the purpose?

If you don't need to drive 32 ohms, but something quite higher, do you think there would be any sonic penalty to have the ECC99/6N6P at say 16ma than the approx 28ma as per your schemo?

I have 10K to ground at the output.I use 6N3P to 6N2 converters.
I see in the JJECC99 data pdf that it can take 3,5w so I should be on the safe side...or?
Its just that I think that 6N6P sound thicker than Ecc99.

If a 300 Ohm headphone like I do , a Sennheiser HD650, is the goal then one can perhaps use this circuit which I designed and made. Gives full sound satisfaction for me.
If necessary, it can also drive the 70 Ohm Sennheiser HD25.

That output tube arangement loocks nearly just about like the one I built.
I made my output stage is working on 150V battery to keep plate dissipation low for that ECC99. A very fine tube if I may say.

O.K. no RIAA phono stage because my (limited) experience
with SMPS is that they produce lots of stray field components.
For 200V supply you have to do some LTspice calculations to obtain an idea of plate dissipation for those ECC99.
