6HZ8 and 6KT8 Marshall 18W Guitar Amplifier Design

I've worked out a version of the Marshall 18 watt amp that uses TV tubes that I have. My problem is that the data sheets for the 6HZ8 output pentode do not include optimum Load Resistance values. Can anyone please help me with how to calculate or estimate what the Output Transformer's primary load should be? Thank you! I used 12K on it as a guess btw.

The triode is lower mu, and pretty nonlinear. Could be just what the dr. ordered for a 2H-generating “clean” channel. HZ8 has a more “hi-fi-capable” triode, as does the KV8. Most of those things are still going for three bucks a pop, with little sign of shortage.

Those video pentodes have a lot of gain. Takes about 1/3 of the voltage required to drive a pair of EL84’s. Keep the layout tight and don‘t omit g1 and g2 stoppers.
