If you do the research yourself you will see ANY OS is OK if you have it configured right 🙂shakeshuck said:If you mean using it to browse the web, it's not recommended from a security point of view. Neither is 98 or XP.

Sure, like if you don't connect it to the internet. 😉
If you use a modern browser on an old OS, and some modern anti-nasty software, and you're behind a firewalled router, you stand a chance. A lot of the up-to-date browsers don't support the old OSes, unfortunately.
Your chances are greater if you're not browsing using the admin account, of course - which most people sadly do.
In the spirit of the thread:
1) D.O.S. 3.2
2) Wordstar
3) D Base III
4) Lotus
5) The Colossal Cave (hey, I deserve some fun, it´s not only working all day long 😉 )
I consider all a *great* improvemnt over the CP-M versions.

I believe you are stretching.
But seriously: my most-CPU-time program in the house is WINSOLIT from 1992. Made for Win3, runs fine on XP.

The demise of MSPaint has apparently been over dramatized. Microsoft this morning has indicated that it will continue to be available from the app store. (Possibly it was reprieved after all of the outcry, or there was a communication problem somewhere. Who knows.. LOL)
