Sure, like if you don't connect it to the internet.
If you use a modern browser on an old OS, and some modern anti-nasty software, and you're behind a firewalled router, you stand a chance. A lot of the up-to-date browsers don't support the old OSes, unfortunately.
Your chances are greater if you're not browsing using the admin account, of course - which most people sadly do.
