cable from tv3000 to nview...

I will have to check when I get home but I'm almost positive I'm using the N-View Spectra c vga cable from the tv-3000 to the nview....I recall that I think I had the same issue when I tried to use the tv-3000 vga cable...

I connect into the analog on the Nview spctra c with this cable....

You can also if you wanted run the tv-3000 rca/ or svideo out to Nview Spectra c

heating problems?

HEy Bolckhead

aren't you facing any heating or overheating problems with your set up?
Have you added some fans to keep things cool?

have you ever experimented with peltier elements? i wonder if i would glue them against the metal frame if that would be effective?

Signs of overheating...

I have never noticed any overheating problems...About the longest I have had it on staight was about 5 hours (2 movies in a row)....I did place a small fan in from of the overhead to keep the bulb a little cooler...if you look back at my pics ..it is the blue object in front of the overhead...

Before I added that fan I notice my room would get warmer...now it doesn't....

I've had it working w/o the TV3000. However, I want to use the TV3000 to improve the overall quality. I'm going to CompUSA to look for a suitable cable. Mine only has Mac cables. Also, I called the guy at AVtoolbox and he said that the video out was not supposed to work on a monitor or LCD. But, when I read the manual, it says it is for connection to a TV. What ever it's purpose, mine doesn't work. It only works when connected to a computer monitor. If you get an opportunity, I'd love to hear if yours works using the video out to the LCD panel or directly to a TV. It seems to me that if using a simple RCA type plug on the video in works, then the same type of connection should work using the video out connection.

strange....

I have a pc dvd 8speed (verbatim/Cen-Dyne), a tv 3000 and a regular dvd player (Mintek=very very cheap)

when i use the pc dvd with a spectra C the picture looks like there are sometimes frames missing. If i connect the regular dvd through the tv 3000, everything is just fine.

i really would like to connect the pc dvd to the panel to prevent cable hassle... and my pc is located in the study where my screen is loacted as well.
How can i get the picture frame speed to 'normal' ?
my pc has a duron 1ghz, with video on the board. 384 meg
( one 256 and one 128)
i have never had this problem before (when looking at the pc monitor) but only now i have noticed this. i have tried a music dvd (sade live) and a movie with nice colorscenes (contact).
both got the same remarks!
i already tried this: disconnect the pc from ATT cable internet,
close all other applications except fro WINdvd. Both did not change the infrequency. ANY HELP/ADVICE ??????

horrible noise inside the panels ?

I got that one solved pretty quickly.... the viewframe panels usually come with 3 fans inside each 40mm

you just replace the one that is bad, a matter of eliminating..
you can find them in all computerstores i supose, however i got mine online at www.xoxide.com

i also improved the original design by adding thin rubber washers between the panel and the fans. if you need extra info, i will post the pics i made from the transition.
I also got some new 'filter' material that my wife bought in a dollarstore , it some kind of sponge but perfectly suited...
now i have a panel with a PINK dustfilter!!!!!

My setup

That's an awesome room you have going there Blockhead. I am at the stage of designing the actual theater since I have my basic equipment. Yours is an inspiration. My setup so far includes:

Sharp QA-2500 I got this from a very nice man for $275 and oh my God! There is virtually NO screen door effect on this panel at 1024x768 rez. The 150:1 contrast ratio is divine, and there is enough detail to see the pours on people's faces!

Sharp QA-1750 For those times when I don't feel like turning the computer on to play a little Playstation 2 or watch Cable TV.

A Dukane 4003 OHP, the zoom lens attachment is extremely useful in the model and it's so portable.

My PC will be running DVD through a ti4200 Ge-Force 4 video card w/Toshiba DVD-rom drive. The GeForce comes with S-video in and out so that i can scale anything from 640x480 including PS2 and TV. There is also a Sound Blaster Audigy Plantinum on the baby for DTS surround sound using Digital Optical in/out.

I also ordered an 8 foot Da-Lite Video Spectra 1.5 screen from Hammerhead tech (A great da-lite dealer, the cheapest I've ever found!) for $119.00

Now it is time for the room setup. I'm setting up in a 12x12 room that has a nice big wall. I was thinking of puting gels in the track lighting and painting the room drak blue, I also would like to build a stage around the screen for storage and speaker placement.
I have this grand scheme in my mind that wont go away! It has taken me months on ebay to get to this point, can't stop now!

jhovis, same problem!!!

jhovis , I have the same problem as you:

Jhovis, did you get it working with "rca in and rca out" using the TV3000?
Maybe the RCA OUT will work when using S-VIDEO IN?
Please let me know before going out and buying an S-VIDEO cable. I'm not able to use VGA OUT to LCD.

view spectra c amnesia

Can you post some pics of that changes you made to your panel? Also thinking of modding my Spectra C and put a more quiet fan in it

\

tuurlijk man, doe ik vanavond nog, ben bezig met back up van pics...

i will post pics later it is only of the end result but you notive a different fan and also the washers i used between fan and body .

This is a bit off-topic,

Ok, dat is perfect! Geinig dat ik hier iemand tegenkom die nederlands spreekt.

Groetjes,

Sorry, this was something in dutch. I think it's funny that I meet someone here who also speaks my original language.

amnesia (zwaar weekendje achter de rug!)

ok here are some pics
i took some of the screen i made with the black out cloth
i also took one of the diy projector with the 2 LOA's fluorex lamps but as previously mentioned here, my digital camera is a AIPTEK pen and is not really suited for HQ pics
and then some pics of the panel i fixed
one of the fans was replaced by a new 40 mm one (the thin one in the picture, i placed washers between the body and the fans. the washers are made of a mix of felt, carton and rubber = they eliminate any vibration being transferred to the body of the panel.
also you can see the cable i homemade between pc or tv3000 and panel.
