3-way to active - Hypex FA253 - learning project

Repeat this procedure for every component of the filter
I do it a little different. I use the GUI tool in HFD to manually input filter values rather than upload the biquad data. The filter values are determined by VituixCad simulation.

I print a hardcopy of the Vcad filter image, then as I enter the values into HFD, I mark off the values on the paper copy. Then I double check all the values. A 3-way filter usually takes about 10 minutes to input into HFD.

Directly uploading the biquad data is an interesting option. I may try it sometime to see if it is more efficient.

Wow, I did not realise VCad can do a Hypex specific conversion!
This is an important point he made. The behavior of active filters in VituixCad can be quite different than expected if the wrong DSP system is chosen. My installation of VituixCad defaults to "analog". Sometimes I forget to change the DSP system in the options screen from "analog" to "Hypex FA192K". The behavior of shelf filters is very different between the two. PEQ and HP / LP filters are onlys slightly different.
