No new info from Mouser. I'm guessing they are a longshot at best.

I'll keep pursing KEC and well as alternate sources for Onsemi KSA1381E.

For those that pre-paid - please send me a PM on how you would like to proceed.
  1. Wait to see what happens with OnSemi KSA1381E or KEC KTA1381Y
  2. Mail the 2SC3503E and refund any overpayment.
  3. Cancel all together and refund
If you are signed up and have not paid, let me know if you still want the 2SC3503E.

I am sitting on a large pile of 2SC3503E, but I realized everyone signed up for complementary devices. I'd appreciate it if you choose to proceed with 2SC3503E only, but I don't fault you if you bow out.

I'm sorry the GB is unravelling. Not sure if Mouser or Onsemi is to blame.

Hi Brian,
S**tty deal with what is happening with Mouser. I am in for option 1, willing to wait and see what happens.

I am wondering how much extra $$ purchasing and shipping from Profusion would be divided among the people in the GB ?

MM

Hi Brian,

It's pretty poor form if anyone who's signed up pulls out completely I'll leave mine for a few days see what happens with KEC.

On the other hand if you want me to speak to profusion for a large order of KSA1381E maybe easier as I'm in the UK, send me a PM

As an aside, I wonder if Mouser, Digikey, etc could be "pressured" into becoming a distributer for KEC? I was just perusing their website, and it appears they are continuing to make o LOT of the transistors (or equivalents) we use as hobbyists.

Heard back from Profusion they would supply either 4980 or 5040 as supplied in tubes of 60.

Price wise £0.17 per unit plus vat so for 4980 it'll be £1,024.32 including £9 delivery and VAT

Eight week lead time

Shipping to the States and import tax would also need to be considered

Any interest?

My order is on the way from Profusion. Advance order demand was so high, that they never posted online inventory. To be expected with the only high speed, high voltage, and low Cob VAS transistor in production. They have an order in for a much larger shippment now. BTW, other very useful KEC transistors are in stock there now.

Thanks for the update. I've send several emails to KEC directly to see about ordering several thousand pieces with shipment to the US. They have yet to reply. I've sent to the global sales and a few of the field sales offices. No replies.

Frustrating

Its weird ( or not very good business practice) that they won't even reply, even if it means them saying, go to the distributor, in this case Profusion, which they just set a deal up with. Different country, different rules or practices. Send the email in Korean 🙂 Google 🙂
Deal with Profusion, they were good to me. I set up an account, ready to go, make sure you set it up with the top showing US. Shipping is reasonable.
I am not going to order until they show stock since I am in no rush

Whoa, that escalated quickly. Checked in beginning of week, in-stock, planning to buy some this weekend when I had time to sit down. Now stock-out.

Guess you are right about the one and only...
