2N3055 inside - commercial famous amplifier models, quasi complementary power output

Hi Anatech, actually they were used in a very old industrial regulator within a same heatsink with the lower gain one
driving the four others wich were parraleled, and when i mean paraleled that s not even with emitter resistances
to evenly distribute the output currents, that s why they needed four matched devices.

This leave me wondering about the low gain devices you and wg-ski got at the time, possibly that the manufacturers
unloaded most of their rubbish in the consumer market while pro users got the best parts, be it for DC regulators.

Edit : I ll add that testing condition was at 9V VCE and 25°C since they still are on their original big heatsink.

Hi wahab,
No, we buy from industrial suppliers. I did industrial and consumer work and they did not differentiate for end use, plus bought direct at times when quantities were high enough. Fly-by-night shops would buy from anywhere that had them cheap, including surplus that may have had rejects. TV service shops were famous around here for using junk. I only bought from distributors, and sometimes shops I knew well and knew they bought from the same suppliers. Plus I (still) tested each part before using it. It's a habit I got into at the beginning.

Your power supply transistors were certainly matched by the manufacturer, of that I have zero doubt! However, even matched parts require emitter resistance as they will hog current as they get warmer. We used matched parts for consumer (including PA and MI) applications, and also industrial power supplies. The main concern was reliability, and if it comes back, I'm fixing it for free!!!

Amplituner Radmor 5102 Hi-Fi Quasi Quadro. 2x25W + 2x15 4ohm, nominal DIN by THD 0,3% from Poland. On YouTube are all mods which make sound better (add current mirrors, lighter loudness like from 5412 model, etc.)and about 60-80 watts per Channel (it's sth abouth change connections by the secondary wirings transformer to have higher power supply on the power amplifier, and change all capacitor's on higher voltage).
It has modular interior. Two screws, socket and you throw out this PCB which you need. 5102-TE has led indicators and output for equalizer.

On this channel you have all the best mods of this amplituner.
https://youtube.com/@systemix1?si=_yOHTUhd2XUU4rgH
If you write to the author, he gives a link to all mod schematics on Google Disc.
Oh, i forgot.
It has OIRT (64-74 mHz)FM. If you want to use a tuner, you must convert it to CCIR (88-108mHz). It isn't difficult.
It has programmable 8 presets with touch buttons, -20dB, phono stage, fader with +/- 6 steps (each side from 0)
Phono input is between the heatsinks and by it is MM/MC switch.
Quite good piece can buy about 100 euro, worse about 50, but the most expensive are 5100 from the first series (250-500 euro and more). Below you can see front with LEDs from 5012-TE and a back side.
