I've used some of the 33000uF caps that I rescued from the Aleph 4 when it failed. They all test OK.
Interesting. In the design I've incorporated a chimney approach to keep the internal capacitors cool.
I've just tried it with the cooling fan and there is virtually no flow ?
I'm wondering if it might work just as well with no fan using convected heat, it would also be much quieter.

Well, what do you know ? I went dumpster diving again today and have come out with a real gem.
I've found a 500VA 18+18V toroid.
It was completely unmarked with no clues as to which leads were which but that didn't take long to figure out.
The transformer I was using was 300VA 15+15V so this will be prefect for the Aleph J.
