2020 Jeff Bagby Revolution Mini SD

I never got around to trying the beryllium tweeter, simply because other projects were prioritised.

I can recommend it as a speaker for a listening distance of 1 – 2 meters (3 – 6 ft.), ideally suited for away from wall placement (>2 ft).

In small rooms, close to wall or near wall placement the subbass (<70Hz may sound a bit too strong). Although the “right” amount of bass depends on your expectations though, so be prepared to experiment with positioning or room EQ.

As you can see it has been tuned to sound pleasing with a slight bass bump, good in-room / power response, nice imaging and sparkly highs. But never fatiguing or splashy.

I can wholeheartedly recommend it if you want to hear how Jeff designed mini monitors (as was my intention).

Hello, I see this thread hasn’t been active for a little while but i have a few questions as I’m looking to build this speaker.
Would someone be able to provide info on driver placement on the baffle. I have been unable to find a layout plan.
Did the original design include internal bracing? Or did Jeff B use a BBC approach to dampening cabinet resonance.
Also could the PR be swapped out for a regular ported design and not affect the sound qualities of it?
Thank you in advance.
B

Hello again, just looking for a bit more clarification.
I have noticed that Center to Center spacing on the drivers using the sb15cac and sb29sdac tweeter would have them overlapping.
Was there a typo in the cabinet dimension/ driver spacing?
I see also that there is a crossover design using these two drivers as well.
Can anyone confirm ?

Hi
Someone know where to find those meniscus designs? like the 2 ways that use the Hi-Vi L6-8R...i just remenber that i read on the site that the designer use the name of the beer that they where drinking to name the speaker that use that driver, the jeff´s continiums and so on.. i mean those design where lost after meniscus close?
thanks

Thoseee one..!!! the blues.. thanks wolf.
By the way, your photobucket with your designs is paid/subscription thing or there is something wrong with me triying to see it... i got 2 aurasound ns3 and im planning to do your design for them but i dont have acces.. beside look on the waw that you also do with tangband drivers.... following your work long ago
thanks

I know the Photobucket link is dead. The last notice was enough that I didn't want to give them ownership or license to do whatever they wanted with my images. So, I deleted my account.

I am slowly working on getting them posted in the 'Armada' section of the InDIYana Event pages. It just takes time...

The PC with the NS3-193-8A is just a stuffed 4" internal cube with a 500uF in series with the driver. Simple design.

I don't know what 'WAW" you refer to as I've only done 2 thus far. I used the HiVi M3N and the RS125-4 in one called Hybrid Vigor xover at 900Hz, and the W2-803SM with the Dayton 10" flat-nomex 270-44 in one called &roids xover at 250Hz, IIRC. Other than these 2, I've done 5 single driver designs, and have a 1.5way pending for next Spring's "Tweeterectomy" theme.

WAW / FAST (full ranges with sub/*woofer)speaker that i think i read that you do with tangband drives.
But Hey thanks any way wolft, i get the info for the ns3´s desing and i will try to do it soon...i already got the drivers, but at the moment i´m in a country that is not builder friendly --to said the least in any way so-- i will share the process that i could make here.

THANKS again

Yes, I have retirees complain to me all the time how little time they have since retiring; All while I'm at my 60 hour a week job.

That's because the significant other gives them jobs to do. One of the reasons to go to work.

"Guess what the average years are after retirement?"
"Six... Six!"

"Which means don't retire"
(audience in laughter)

"You chances are too slim!"
