I never got around to trying the beryllium tweeter, simply because other projects were prioritised.
I can recommend it as a speaker for a listening distance of 1 – 2 meters (3 – 6 ft.), ideally suited for away from wall placement (>2 ft).
In small rooms, close to wall or near wall placement the subbass (<70Hz may sound a bit too strong). Although the “right” amount of bass depends on your expectations though, so be prepared to experiment with positioning or room EQ.
As you can see it has been tuned to sound pleasing with a slight bass bump, good in-room / power response, nice imaging and sparkly highs. But never fatiguing or splashy.
I can wholeheartedly recommend it if you want to hear how Jeff designed mini monitors (as was my intention).
