Algar_emi said:Hi. I'm starting this new thread for a new group buy of Maxon Motor from Maxon USA. I would like to get 5 motors to get a much decent price of about 90$ each. This motor can be use with Mark kelly great motor controller to build a killer turntable motor/controller combo.
The previous group buy prices were:
Here are the price breaks for motor 110191 a-max 26mm
1 $250.00
2 $125.00 each
3-4 $106.70 each
5-19 $83.90 each
Mark Kelly just gave us the controller pcb gerber. I can also supply the original pcb design or my own version to complete the kit.
We will see if there is any interest. Feel free to email me.
Thanks...
5-19 motors $83.90 each.
This is the price I paid for my motor in the first group buy from Mark Kelly. I think the ones in this group buy were close to the same.
Mark
I know, I saw the beginning of the thread, and I'm already nervous about that :-(, but that is the same with a lot of things over here.
I expected the same volume pricing from the distribution here, I would have 2 more buyer alread, but even with 5 that does not help much.
At least I have a much better price for 1 piece 🙂
Regards,
JG

Hi guys. I'm finally back home, but a little exhausted, long drive and everything else...
Guest what was waiting for me? The last Silver Motor Pod order had arrived, finally 🙄. It tooks 3 months surface delivery from China, never again. Next time, I'll use Air shipping for sure.
If my wife let me work on the GB this weekend, I should be able to start packing the rest of the kits. Check your email.
Again thanks for your patience.
Have a good weekeed.

Can you lay an SLA battery on its side like that? I thought there were vents that could possibly leakacid if it wer put on its side.
If it is an AGM (Absorbed Glass Matt) battery there is not problem. They are 100% sealed and operate properly in any position.
4 Kits ready for shipping and awaiting payments and/or options choice:
They were assembly PCB kits awaiting the Silver Motor Pods.
Fredicol, Wasted, Secips, Nanook.
Some more will be ready for shipping this week.

Thank You Algar_emi,
I arrived home today to find my package from you.
This past weekend in a state of impatience I sent a message to Algar to inquire about my package. I received a response in ~4 hours. I wish I could have been just a "little" more patient to avoid any concern I may have caused our generous benefactor.
All is good with the goods. The tape pulley is an elegant, humble work of art. Care was taken to shape the fillets and rounds. They are ready to mount. The term used by Algar..."jewelry"...is appropriate.
Greg, I have a great appreciation of your work. Thanks

Ed good to hear that you got your kit. Delivery time seems to vary from part of the country. Once, I sent a part, here in Quebec, 50 miles from my home and it tooks 2 weeks! Go figure...
Just to let you know and explain some of my shipping priority.
I just received today the last missing part, the DPDT Switch, this is why all the kits with parts kit were delayed.
I'm sending the assembled PCBs' for now because they already had this very switch installed.
Now, I have to re-open all the parts kits to insert the missing switch and a few last minute additions, such as R24=1K is now included, as well as the TO-220, heatsink screw insulator (from my own personal stock).
I'll get back to you as soon as possible. I'll try to send the email with final price adjustment and shipping cost this week.
Just to remind some of you that got their kit, the docs is hosted by Bas Horneman, see these links:

Sylvain,
I received my package today and I am smiles from ear to ear. The circuit card is beautifully layed out. The parts are of excellent quality and you even enclosed the connectors for the chassis. I have never seen a better run group buy. Those who have participated centainly owe you a debt of gratitude. I am sure that there will be a number of wonderful DIY turntables spawn from the buy. I am proud to have supplied the top plates. Thank you for your efforts.
Guy
PS: Your plate ships Friday.

Thanks to you too, you made this possible as well. Glad you liked the kit. I put a lot of effort in it, and tried to give you the best parts for the money.
UPDATE: IT IS DONE. Finally all kits are packed and ready to go. The two only kits left Greg Nuspel (still working on assembling his PCB to thank him for his work) and ligascon because I also sold him two AYA DAC Transfo PCB (not done yet)
I'm starting to send the emails for the final payment and shipping cost.
The faster you reply, the faster this will all be done.

PULLEYS UPDATE: I have left 1 custom Tape Pulley and TWO Custom String Pulleys. For anyone interested send me an email. Thanks...
Shipping Cost. Most of you certainly realized that the shipping cost are rather high. It is because all the current shipments include a pod and all the options (parts, plate, etc...). Most boxes exceed 2Kg and are bigger than the first batch I shipped. Weight and size are never a good thing with shipping things. Sorry guys...
These kits are packed and ready to go. I'm sending the email at this very moment:
Michi124, Terence8888, Agent5, Webby, Bakus11, Tengsimon, Luvduhill, Limono, Aengus.
