Actually I am confused - Looking at your numbers I see this below. Is this what you are seeing S4=S5?
Exactly!
Here's a 285L positive flare TH. It's the same height as NEO Dan's negative flare 301L TH. It has a 17.5" W X 22.25" D footprint. The mouth is 16" W x 12" H. 285L TH = 121 dB's @ 30hz. 301L TH = 123 dB's @ 30hz.
If you can see the grey line, then that's the 301L TH curve.

LOL, Kawasaki Racing colors! I really like your box! I might build it for temporary use in my F150 Super Crew. I really want a FLH so I don't have to use a highpass filter for home theater. I can't match our 285 & 301L TH's. I'm at 375L & 120 dB's @ 30hz.
Grey = 285L TH.

Grey = 285L TH.

hey anyone have a rendering for the L7 going down to 30hz as loud as possible but only 18" wide.. I can have it long and deep but just not over 18" wide.. thanks for any help that you can offer
I can do it 17.5" wide. 825.8cm2 = 8" x 16" internally. 929.03 = 9 x 16. 1032.26 = 10 x 16. 1238.71 = 12 x 16. 1651.61 = 16 x 16. Let me get back to my desk and work out a simple build.
I forgot my current build has a 17.5"W x 16.25"D x 61.5"H footprint if you do a single fold. Shorten L23 (30.48cm = 1 foot) to bump up the curve for more output above 30hz.

Here you go. Simple build. No angles. 67.5" H X 17.5" W X 18.25" D. This Tapped Quarter Wave Pipe has a constant 8" x 16" diameter. The 15L7 has an 8 11/16 mounting depth. With 0.75" (19.05mm) stock, you have 1/16" left to clear the magnet.

bp thanks .. do you feel this is the best box design for 30hz extension as loud as it can get if i only have a 17.5" width availability?
You could do a front loaded horn, but it would be more complicated build. I have HR numbers, but no box illustrations for a FLH.
baron thats my lp640 roadster
Nice, looked like a Lambo-just didn't recognise it. One of my customers has one-got it a year early as he "really wanted it"-should have waited as he got the old nav and audio system!. They invited him over for private viewing/drive of the Aventador (before it even had a name) as they knew he had the new MacLaren on order and it was the last week he could cancel and switch to the Lambo! Would love to say "lucky you"-but know you must have worked damn hard for it😉
I see this is an older thread but hopefully somebody that was involved will speak up. I have a early 2000s L7 15D2 that I currently have in a large ported box tuned to 25hz in my HT. After seeing this and another thread using these in tapped pipes I really want to try it too. I'm very new to this design. My question is would it be possible to move the tuning frequency down to 20 or 25 Hz by simply making the pipe length longer but keeping the cross section the same? And if so how much longer? I'm thinking 30hz is a bit high for HT use. Thanks for any help I can get!
I imagine my 2 years old got should of my phone while this page was loaded up. Sorry... still no input on the enclosure from anyone?
