Hi Nordo,
Yes - I also repeated key stuff in previous post 3518:

Thanks for giving it a try!

xrk971,
Time is right for you to make a video on YouTube for 10F/8424 & RS225-8 FAST TL speaker. You gotta promote this fantastic speaker and what it takes to build it. Showing can be better then reading. The audiophiles here on diyAudio can watch the video.

I am going to start posting more videos on my YT channel. I’ll probably start with a series based on the “What’s in the Bench” thread. The TL is a good one to highlight though.
Maybe it would be a lot easier for DIYers and especially newbies, if the sealed, ported and TL were all in their own separate threads (in diyaudio).I am going to start posting more videos on my YT channel. I know much of the stuff would be repeated in each thread, but I believe it would definitely clarify the design and construction instructions for each. 😉
Another set of TLs are finally finished and these will be going to a good friend in Texas.
This was about a dozen coats of black water based lacquer spray gun applied (mostly in a spray booth) and hand sanded in between coats. My cabinet maker did this so I cannot take credit for the elbow grease and technical expertise.
The color appears brown because that’s a reflection of the red router table color behind but the finish is true black with satin texture.

Hi X
Did you ever work out the adjustments to the current Xover if a Vifa TC9FD-8 was swapped for the 10F?
I remember you did the adjustment on the DSP.
In Australia, there A$100 difference between the TC9 and the 10F.

Just adjust R1/R2 to taste. The 10F is about 87dB sensitive and TC9 is about 85dB. R1 and R2 is 5ohms each on 10F. I would go with 3.3R on R1 and 6.8R on R2. Add or reduce R1 by 1R up or down to taste.
Don’t you hate it when people wanna modify the design?? 🤪 how about an RS 100-8 instead or two? Hahaha, sorry.. I just happen to have them handy already, they just need a home.Just adjust R1/R2 to taste. The 10F is about 87dB sensitive and TC9 is about 85dB. R1 and R2 is 5ohms each on 10F. I don’t think I’m gonna start missing tweeters anytime soon? I’m down into the 12-13 K hz range in hearing probably . when playing with tweeters I really can tell that somethings just barely there . Sometimes might not be missed I don’t know, don’t seem like it though if I just play the RS100s in stuffed pipes alone as Experiments.
Booger weldz,
There already exists an XO design for the RS100-8 - this from post # 1 of this thread (attached).

These are beautiful! A matching pair of RSs 26 fives in subwoofers out in the room…. 😍Another set of TLs are finally finished and these will be going to a good friend in Texas.

Thanks. That room is the actually the wood shop of my cabinetmaker. We still need to do a final impedance sweep and fine tune the amount of stuffing to get the damping optimized for best combination of bass extension (deep bass) and low group delay (tight bass). About 150g of polyfill stuffing in the closed end below the woofer and another 250g from the woofer to the 180deg turn at the top. It’s all easily adjustable through the woofer cutout. These two parameters of bass extension and low group delay are both excellent on this TL design and IMO, superb for any 8in class woofer speaker. One of the reasons why I think a tapered TL sounds so good. These are beautiful! A matching pair of RSs 26 fives in subwoofers out in the room…. 😍
Hi X,
do you mean 400 g of polyfill in one speaker?
Well, I ended up with 83g per speaker after an initial amount of 120 g.
With the higher amount the bass was somewhat limited.
