There is DC protect with triac on speaker terminal pcb, but you can use protect from B500 thread.
Use pcb which already made some of forum members and tested.

555 is a timer IC. It is usually used to introduce a time delay for an action.
It is generally not used for protection.

B500 with single pair of outputs can be use as Hi-Fi amplifier. Basicly B500 is symetrical descrite amplifier with common base input stage. OP amp is for DC servo and AC input buffer for low impedance emiter amp input.
