The experiments I did with a Meanwell IRM-20-5 module coupled to an AmyAlice were positive. I prefer a linear PSU for sensitive stuff but the aforementioned combination sure is OK and way better than just the SMPS module.
Wiim makes a few devices. It would help to mention which one or its power consumption.

You need to watch the voltage drop (series resistor values) because at least some 5V devices will complain if the voltage drops too much. This can be as little as down to 4.8V or so at full load. Of course if your SMPS can be adjusted higher than 5V to provide some headroom this is less of an issue.
Amyalice and p089zb both drop insignificant amount of V, so it is safe to use on a smps and this use case.
Jean-Paul, the Wiim pro plus requires a 5v 1.5amps or higher. The device comes with a simple amps 5v 2amps. I will still measure full load current. they report 1.7watts for standby and playback
Hi no the coils as used in AmyAlice. Not the holy grail but a well designed and tested filter for low power SMPS. I would pick stuff that is tested and proven. A good design is a combination of factors with the usual drawbacks mitigated.
If you want gerbers to have PCBs made for a Meanwell IRM-20-5 and that filter on 1 PCB you can have mine. Combine with an IEC inlet with built in filter and fuse and you will have a pretty good setup.

I just wish for a design with onboard MeanWell smps + AmyAlice and USB Type-C output. Would be absolutely perfect and quick upgrade for my Wiim streamer.
Oh I can change the design to USB-C if you can deliver the right pinout and type. I don’t see any benefit in it though. There are way better connectors.
Quick/convenient are often the enemies of good. Since I stock Lemo I use those quite often.
Seller gfu-nuernberg on ebay.de sells the Meanwell IRM-20-5 for 3.99 Euro. I bought a lot and they are the real deal made in 2021. Can be combined with the IRM-20-12 but only after a friendly e-mail (to avoid double shipping costs). Power in abundance, how nice is that.

Does it use only power/gnd lanes?I just wish for a design with onboard MeanWell smps + AmyAlice and USB Type-C output. Would be absolutely perfect and quick upgrade for my Wiim streamer.

I know surely there are way better power connectors about there but most devices these days use USB Type-C, so we just need a stock C-C cable and get it work. Different connectors on each side is quite an inconvinience.Oh I can change the design to USB-C if you can deliver the right pinout and type. I don’t see any benefit in it though. That looks awesome! The USB-C port is strictly for powering so I don't think there is any other pins involved. What smps module did you use? I just remembered Mean-Well doesn't have any small 5v smps, not sure if I missed anything else.If it uses only power and gnd, and no need for a handshake or any RD, fairly easy to modify my version of amyalice. Also pads for additional DC barrel output. 55x65mm, very small, can fit any cheap aliexpress case.

How about a 5V / 2A cell phone charger?
Add a filter, 1 / 100 / 1000 uF in parallel, and a ferrite bead, should work.

Good reliable IRM-20-5. 4A 5V (with filter up to 3A only). That looks awesome! The USB-C port is strictly for powering so I don't think there is any other pins involved. What smps module did you use? I just remembered Mean-Well doesn't have any small 5v smps, not sure if I missed anything else.
Easy then, 6p type c connector and you're good to go. I'll post gerbers and link here.
OK then I won’t. Two of the same is not needed.
BTW they can’t be different as they need to mate. With an upgrade PSU they also only need to be detachable at the device skipping one weak part/error possibility in the chain.
Most also are mediocre for audio. Replacing both chassis part and connector is in the same quality thinking. Issue is wiim probably being under warranty, and the resale value drops with such modification, as not everyone would appreciate modifications.
