People have different budgets 🙂 Some work a whole month for 300e. Never a good thing to make such statements 😉
If they can afford audio and upgrades then what are we debating? 😉
If the resale value of low budget audio is a heavy burden one better worries about the sales price and total risk avoidance. The types that leave plastic sheets on displays. Better leave the budget for the rent and food then and not buy audio.
Anyway, OP has an Wiim Pro Plus and wants to build/obtain an improved PSU so back to topic please. If one wants maximum improvement a better PSU and better connectors are a good combination. Both are generally picked for lowest cost, not best quality.

It's not a debate, it's a fact. People have different budgets, nothing to debate about.
Hello,
If you are using an IRMs power supply, double the power requirement to prevent it from heating up.

It always seems interesting to remind it regularly.
IRM-30-15 given for 2A under 15V.
Load of 1A (14W).
Voltage without load: 5.1V
Voltage with load: 14.3V
Ripple in load: 23 mVrms
Frequency: 49KHz
Temp after 1h: 35°C
If we draw 20W, the temperature goes to 45/48°C. Too hot.
It remains within the specs which is not the case for all the power supplies that are found on sales sites. 😉

Regards,
Still a weak point that a 30W PSU becomes uncomfortably hot when the load is 20W. We are so used to that that we choose a 40W type for 20W load. Or in this case a 20W PSU for 7.5W load. Why settle for less when the 20W module is 3.99 Euro?
It is odd but easily solved.

Just tested it, works proper, so i'm posting gerbers this evening. Will ping this thread.
Both usb-c and aux for dc barrel. There is also led pilot light pads to attach to the box of your choosing so you know when it's on, nice feature to have.
