USB UAC2+HID Multichannel input/output interface York

New mode added for 4 channel 2xI2S output and 2 ch I2S input:

The version of module with isolation is almost ready, I just need to add one thing:
an option for external 5V supply for the USB side

Isolated version would support almost all modes, including multichannel I2S output and I2S input (for ADC), DSD and of course external masterclock. Regarding GPIO pins there will be MUTE, DSD flag signal and F0-F3 for Fs indication (in case if F0-F3 are not occupied by multichannel audio).
I am ready to put order by end of this week. There is a question where a need a bit of help:
PCB color: green or black? 🙂

The price for isolated version would be in range of 60-65 Euro (~10 Euro more than non-isolated)
There is a way to make it a bit cheaper: remove the I2C isolation chip and on-board oscillators (I am guessing that in most cases they are not going to be used anyways...)

I'm attaching a bit of documentation (it is still in a poor state but at least something...)

@eclipsevl we can mount our own isolators? They are easy to do - I built one of DIYINHK boards with ISO7640FM isolators

Your module will fit this, free if you buy something from the store -

Yes, a board like this would work for existing version of the hardware. However, I see that it only would allow to use on-board clocks, there is no path for master clock from DAC side to the MCU.
Also, it does not have F0-F3 pins.

So I guess if I simplify the design a bit and drop some pins, it would be more optimal?

Hi, I have received a York-pico device and it seems to work in 2ch mode under macOS, but it's constantly disconnecting and reconnecting on Raspberry Pi OS 12 Bookworm (latest version as of this post, on a RPi3B). On Windows, I am unable to play audio at all, but it doesn't disconnect. I'm wondering if there's any specific method that is necessary to get York devices to work on the Raspberry Pi/Windows in general.

Thanks!

Hi,

There is no specific configuration required. Let's double check firmware version and clocking configurations. I'll send a PM.

Hello,
Thank you EclipseVL for these indications,
I will set the addr to 0x70,0x72,0x74.

Wow, this is huge project 🙂

I hope to get them by end of next week. If everything goes well - shipping on week of Nov 17th.
Sorry, there is a delay because in the last minute I've added one more PCB to the order. According to FedEx, the package should arrive on 21st.

I've joined Miro's DAC club with PCM1702 and PCM63 boards and since last one has place for JLsound USB->I2S, I've designed a York->JLsound adapter with oscillators and reclock IC:

I quickly put it together in 2 evenings and hope that it has no mistakes. Fingers crossed 🙂
