SB10PGC21-4 has a small magnet and weak driving force, so the sharpness of bass sound is not so good.
The addition of a neodymium magnet improves the sharpness of the bass and the sound quality in the all range.

Nice 👍 , but I have to admit I had a lot of difficulty hearing any differences between your two recordings - with and without the magnets.
Maybe my headphones are not good enough, or... maybe the compression Youtube does to the audio makes it impossible to hear what you do sitting in front of the speakers? I will listen some more. 🤔 I don't know if it's worth it, or interesting to you, to try to measure any differences and show the chart(s)?
this magnet is glued or just holding from it's own force? Where did you buy this magnet?

Can you tell me the time offset in the recording where you hear an improvement? I want to see if I can hear what you are heaing 🙂
Hi Nandappe,
Question when adding neo magnets does it repel when mounting on center of pole piece ?
I tried this on my Coral Flat 8 with single 10 x 30 mm neo. Strangely which ever side I mount
the neo mag will just be atrracted to the pole piece but when I place the neo to the side of the
Coral where the ferrite mag is exposed I can orientate for push & pull on the neo.
Thanks

Magnets are available from Amazon and other shop.
Magnets should be attached in a repelling direction.
The direction of attraction is NG.
Adhesive material is not necessary.

I didn't understand this. @GM can you explain?Magnets are available from Amazon and other shop.

I understand but in my case which ever side of the Neo that Im using does not repel. Is it because that Im using 1 pc instead of 2 pcs or more like you ?Magnets are available from Amazon and other shop.

Does is show in measurement?I so wanted to love the SB10, it does a lot of things right.
Unfortunately, it has a major distortion peak at 4kHz that may or may not disturb.
Up to a certain distance, they are repelled; closer than that, they are attracted.

@nandappe you might want to try your experiment again?... because you might be doing this wrong.
A famous speaker builder has said that the magnet should be placed the opposite of what you are doing.
Here is a quote from him about the subject of adding a magnet...
http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/HES.htm#size
An additional 90 magnet was added to increase sensitivity. When you add an extra magnet it has be to pushed away from the speaker's magnet. If the extra magnet is sucked in, it will decrease magnetic flux in the gap. Strangely enough, if it's very easy to get the extra magnet in place, it usually only means a small increase in sensitivity. If you really have take special measures to keep the magnet in place, there's usually an significant increase in sensitity. I keep the extra magnet in place by tape after adding a small amount of silicon glue between the two magnets, and add a clamp overnight.
This is only in reference to a big Ferrite magnet. When you use a neodymium magnet of only 30 mm in diameter which is about the size of the pole piece scenario would be different. This is what I found when mucking around with my Coral flat 8. Regardless I found success, there is a gain in clarity.
Cheers & thanks to Nandappe for sharing

Nice, thanks for that info. Very interesting how the size of the magnet matters.
So you found adding small neodymium magnet(s) to the Coral flat 8 improved the sound?
Can you elaborate on the "gain in clarity"?

Well before adding the neo you still hear everything on the Coral just that after adding the neo a further haze has been removed
ah, also I see now that Nandappe has been experimenting with this idea for a while, so he already knows way more than me about this 🤔
My understanding is adding a magnet just adds a little more efficiency/sensitivity to the driver - so I suppose it makes sense that it might provide more micro-details to the presentation.Well before adding the neo you still hear everything on the Coral just that after adding the neo a further haze has been removed
That is what I understand too but there's nothing like trying out ourselves to discover & learn. Besides the magnets isn't pricey but mine
cost more as I bought the 10 x 30 mm ones. Lesson learned next time buy thinner ones & stack much cheaper. lol

Did you measure the TSP-Parameters with/wthout magnets or different stacks of smallermagnet ?
thanks.
thanks.

does the Coral Flat-8 have similar Qts ~.5 and Vas as the SB-8? What cabinet do you have them in?
