that's because there is absolutely no distortion is plotted on your graphs. Only FR and impedance from SBA.
Here it is...
I see, it's harmonic distortion.
There seems to be no peak at 4kHz in my environment.
Is it the effect of the enclosure or the room?
sorry, I did not try that driver.Ok, distorsion is high at 4000khz.
Please do you have distorsion of CHP-90 to?
I got in touch with MA at some point, and they tried to send me a pair of drivers but never reached me. They are in Hong Kong, and I am on a little island not too far... politics got in the way...
My FR follows the SBA published data a little more. Yours stops at 10kHz, not showing the breakup a little higher up.I see, it's harmonic distortion.

And you've got a chasm from 200 to 300Hz. Room related?
Don't get me wrong. I want to like this little driver a lot. It has so many things going for it. I've made little boxes for it in my camper van, and with a small sub, they sound pretty good, if not pushed too hard.
Myself, I do not hear the break up above 12kHz (old ears) but I pity the kids listening to it loudly... they would cringe.
And the 4kHz distortion was measured in all of my 4 drivers I have here, in 3 different tested enclosures, so I do not believe it is related to a design or a room.

It seems that the measurement in OmniMic's Distortion mode only shows up to 10 kHz.

When I measure BH and TQWT in my room, I get a big dip.
It is similar with FrugelHorn.
Try moving them around the room, until that dip disappear. Hopefully it will be in a good spot for listening as well. 🙂

I don't think it's a problem since other speakers are measured under the same conditions.
In my hearing, the dip doesn't bother me and it sounds good.
And, I think the sound on YouTube is more reliable than the written word.
if you placed all your speakers at the exact same place, it's normal that your room will behave the same, so same dip.
I will never judge a driver from written words of someone else, and not from a YT video either.
A measured graph showing the driver's behavior, including distortion plots, that I can believe.

Yes, If it's a sealed box.
This is a present from me to perceval.
I apologise for this small divergence. The speakers above seem to have a mass loading plank over the exit. It interests me that it creates 2 separated exits, one narrow and one wide. If I am right, is there a logic to this?

The top slot is just clearance for the port to slide open.
