B1 with Korg Triode

So originally (before you switched the B1K outputs in #8916) is was that:
1) when only the R output from the B1K is plugged into the R input of the amp, sound comes out of the R speaker?
2) when only the L output from the B1K is plugged into the L input of the amp, sound comes out of the L speaker?
3) when both the L&R outputs from the B1K are plugged into the amp's L&R inputs, sound only comes out of the L speaker?

If 1, 2 & 3 are correct, it kinda sounds like the R output signal from the B1K is being sent to ground (shorted) when the L output is connected to the L input to the amp?

Pictured posted in post #8,913, it is difficult to see how the ground wires from the RCA jacks are connected to the volume pot. Please unravel the wires so that the routing is clear.

You should pair the positive and negative wires from each RCA jack. Twist the left positive and negative together and connect to one side of the pot. Twist the right positive and negative together and connect to the other side of the pot.

The positive and negative from each channel from the pot to the board should also be twisted.

sorry for the delay!!! I have now tested it with a different amplifier (amp2) and both channels play!! I just do not understand why the pre amp can not play with my original amplifier (amp 1) - when that amp (amp 1) works perfectly fine in other set-ups?????

both are CampAmp's. i wonder if this is related some crossing of input channel in Amp1 that I mixed up when i put it together - but I dont understand why it then plays just fine if i dont use the pre amp???

I soldered most of the parts in years ago.
Now the Korg Nutubes are also in place.
I chose 2sk170s instead of the 2SK370s that came with the kit.
Everything seems to work perfectly.

Though I can't possibly answer that question, I can relate. As is, it may point to the first 'Amp Camp' amp. But that would be a whole 'nother thread, wouldn't it?

Seems obvious that you have to examine the wiring on the #1 amp then. Use amp #2 as your comparator.

First listening test. Korg B1 driven by ZM Ironpre Bal.
(I don't have input pots at the moment.)
Of course that 10dB plus a little bit more than it needs.
Yet, it have a pleasant sound, bass is surprisingly good, for example.
There is some problem, others faced it as well I think.
So, fight against microphonics: 😉

Fortunately, when placed in a chassis, the tube behaves rather well. Being naked and all alone outside a chassis like that leaves it vulnerable to microphonics.
