i tried for a while e nearfield listening setup at my desk with 4 15 inch woofer as subs and a small OB with a custom sonido 8 inch with no whizzer cone and a Visaton B80 as FR and tried out all sort of diffrent crossover frequencies between the 8 inch and the 3.5 inch FR, here an old picture
it was a little bit crazy but the all over performance for a desktop setup was really good

Cool! (My wife would kill you though). Well, for the totally perfect handout between drivers the time shift between them should not exceed 1/4 of the wavelength. So if your subwoofer is 1 m further than your mid from your head (and from other subs) it becomes completely irrelevant above 1 m * 4 = 80 Hz. However in practice it might be not that strict. Plz take it with a grain of salt.
I am a bit more concerned that the tweeter is too far from the mid, could be a time delay unless your head is in the right place.
