Not just London, all over the UK. Judging from their success they must have been well appreciated, I'm sure the customers were much more discerning than you give credit for. Many Indian restaurants in London were actually owned by people from Bangladesh, their style was 'if in doubt, add more chillies', as the locals did not know if the food was good or bad, it was different, that is all.
One of our local Indian restaurants dates from 1977, The Muntaz Mahal, it's still run by the original owner. We had an excellent meal there just the other week after seeing the recent Bob Dylan film. How's that for a mix of cultures?
I've also had the pleasure of eating in the Kashmir, Bradford in the early 80's.

Yeah, what do we know about food?
😉
It's an experimental afternoon here in the PNWet...
Sous vide ribeyes that have been injected with a cajun butter mix. These will be seared properly on the grill regardless of the weather.

A bogus listing. A typical, fundamentally flawed listing. If the listing had been honest, the US would have rated much higher across the board.
I took a quick look... so look at LA. I was curious why LA rated so low... well, they ONLY INCLUDE THE CITY OF LA... not the metropolitan area.
The City of LA is less than 4 million people, the metro area is..... 18.5 million people.
You think they maybe missed out on a few restaurants... like all the Japanese in Torrance, Samoans in Long Beach, Indians in Artesia, Armenians in Glendale, Salvadorans in OC, etc, etc... heck, there's a very good Okinawan restaurant in Tustin... OC. Good luck getting good Okinawan in NJ or NY.
BTW, Eastern NJ is also very good..... was it included?
So, the numbers are screwed up. I figure the same for most "cities" in North America which are defined not by any one "city" but by the metropolitan area.
Heck, even in Barcelona, some of the best restaurants are not within the borders of Barcelona, but in surrounding smaller cities which are also part of the metro area ( the poor people take the 'metro', we drive )...
That worked out nicely. I don't have any idea if the injection had a meaningful real effect on the outcome as the steaks were cooked in the same mixture
, but it was easy, very tender and delicious. The hourly weather forecast called for the rain to stop at 5:00 and the wind to pick up. It happened as forecast, almost down to the minute
And to give you an idea of the texture, here it is up close. Here's one

As everyone's cooking evolves, I have gone from injecting everything to injecting only the largest items like hams and Barons. Done primarily to shorten the brine time. An injected ham is ready in 7 days vs. 14.I don't have any idea if the injection had a meaningful real effect on the outcome

Cal, my man... I think the Siskiyou pass is clear. We're gassing up. On our way...
That looks DELICIOUS.
Would you post the recipe?
Hoping you're feeling better.

What is a Baron?
A junkie Western Aristocrat with a penchant for opiates?
I hate needles....
That is a picture from the net. It is the Mrs. who does the desserts.
It's an easy dish, I just wanted to show the special touch she put on hers a few pages back.
Tony, I don't even get my antibiotics until tomorrow.

Cal, previously, I'd only injected large cuts and turkeys. Yesterday's whim was brought about by seeing my big syringe while digging out appetizer forks for steamers a day prior.
Tony, it looks like I'll be in SD next week... unfortunately, it'll be a blitzkrieg type trip. Fly in, troubleshoot and repair a parasitic draw on a Tundra and drive it home with my middle boy. I was supposed to be working on a large scale 3d printer designed to build homes but it'll wait... fam comes first

What's a Baron?
You should know.
It's the big hunk sitting on the grill for a few hours and then sliced ether as a roast beef dunner and used for French dips.
ROTFLOL
Tony's Meat's and Market.... Awesome.
In the US, we just call it "roast beef".
Come to think about it, I don't remember if our butcher shops had names. They just had a "Carniceria" sign over the front glass door.

3D printed homes.... I saw something on TV about that. It's really cool. I love the curves on the walls.
The one on TV was the first gen... the guy said. The set up used a beam as a gantry and the printer hanged from that. They were saying they working on v2 which was designed as an long arm. Very neat. Two weeks to print a full sized house.
1300 miles from San Diego to LoFall. You could do it in 18 hours non stop. In the winter we normally stop overnight at Weed. We got lots of "I ❤️️ Weed" mugs.

Tony, the difference is roast beef can refer to many different things where the baron is the top round and often includes most or all of it, meaning they are 20 to 40 lbs. They are ideal for a spit.
I was working on a project with a young canna-millionaire on the high plains of southern Oregon a few years ago. He was buying up local properties with the intent of forming a new community and renaming the town. We settled on naming it "Better Weed" and floated the idea of proposing a voter initiative in Weed to rename it "Mids"... all for publicity of course 🤣
A friend who is the world's foremost joint artist was involved and we spent days laughing and trying to convince him to accept a nomination to be the mayor.
3d printed homes are a cool concept to be sure. I was told hat this 30' dome was done in 5.5 hours. I can't divulge too much publicly, but if you're interested, PM me and I'll send you the URL to the published but not publicized web page.

Simon, yeah, that was a stretch as well as being non-inclusive. By my count, those are mistakes 20 and 21 since waking this morning. Plenty more to go before the day is done...
That would be a heck of a smokehouse Cal. 700 sqft plus plenty of room for racking. I'm told that the finished structures are quite well insulated so maybe you're onto something
