Thank you for your kind words. Yup, the walnut veneer went on much nicer than I expected.@benzxc those look beautiful! Walnut veneer?
I love the minimal vintage look of a recessed grill, flush with the cabinet face.
Coincidentally how my modded 620 cabinet arrived.
What volume and tuning are you using?
I just followed the drawings provided by Lii Audio... this is the first time I tried to build cabinets so I am glad they turned out much better than expected, and the sound is pretty good without any further tuning. I probably should find a time to properly tune the sound as there are still some rough edges to the sound at times. But it is so heavy I keep putting it off... and I enjoy the music so much that I just never bothered to do it!
@jjasniew
Thank you for your kind words. If you are ever in this part of the world, you'd be more than welcome to spend some time listening to music here.... 😀
I agree with you about Lii Audio and Lii Song. I am really impressed by Lii Audio's drivers. Lii Song's service is very top notch and drivers are built to a very high standard. But there is something about the sound of Lii Audio's drivers that make them very special.

the damping of the cabinet walls should be done with these 3M bitumen stripes. Not with the poly wool
Poly wool is for damping the driver...
Poly wool is for damping the driver...
I did read this thread until page 10 or something.
What an interesting read about Lii audio. And Lii song.
I wanted to add: at this very moment listening to a Dussun V8 amp, I have it for more than 10years. It is fabulous sounding, and allthough rather cheap, it played a lot of other amps home, to my surprise. How come this Chinese is so terrific sounding? I searched it years ago, and opened the box to see internals of top quality.
One day around 1995, Mark Levinson wanted an ‘affordable’ but very good, true to his name, amp. They designed in-house but let it build in china by a company named Korsun, before returning to US for quality check.
These Korsun guys must have thought, we can do distribution too, without quality check. So they distributed under Korsun and later Dussun through Asia and Europe, far from US, through shops that also fell into the trick.
That off course quickly came to an end.
So the Dussun I’m listening to is actually a Mark Levinson, without the quality control. It must be 20+ years old now, and still going strong.
It is not as bad as stealing a name, but still bad practice.
But how much I wanted a vintage luxman c02 and m02 to sound better, it didn’t (prior to recap it, still not done).
Just my 2c about copycat country china.

As an industrial designer i see a lot of products made in China that get assembled in other countries and get the made USA, Japan, England, Swiss, so on...
I am not saying everybody plays this, but if you are not someone involved in manufacturing, for average consumers, it is impossible to have any clue of what's going on. Today where things are made does not say anything about quality. It's just about you get what you pay for, i would say that is the most realistic approach. China can make excellent and crap. They just make what you ask for.

This reminds me of when where I worked were early adopters switching to Mexico and we had to order 8x what we needed and still saved by a hefty percentage over the J.A. Pan Co.!
As far as I know, this is what the owner told me, or maybe I'm just dreaming?
B is the dealer responsible for the overseas market, and B owns everything outside of China, as we all know.
A is the brand, producer, factory, and tech owner in China.
Why did they break up?
B took the original manufacturer's product and independently found a factory to produce it in order to make a larger profit.
At one point, counterfeit products of A actually existed—poor quality with A's branding. A even officially issued a counterfeit warning, which I think happened before B entered the market?
I bet every business owner would go crazy if their dealer did something like that. It’s not that your competitor copied you, but your own dealer did it: ROFLMAO.
Anyway, it was quite an experience talking to a technical-minded owner. He showed me some pictures of his work and products in development. At the time, he was working on a large 3-way coaxial speaker—what a crazy idea! A passionate guy.

The stories from A kept getting new versions I guess.
First B was a "salesman".
Now B became a "dealer".
First B was "sneaky stealing the market with language barrier"
Now B "found a factory to produce A's products", but hey, which product of A?
I can only see B doing decent business, working hard to get acknowledged by HiFi masters and audiophiles while A kept making stories to ruin the reputation of both, and had been selling 100% counterfeit of AE woofer in his "flagship store".

I replied quite a few time to defend Lii Audio on this thread because i felt something not right about it, but at least i visited both brands, been in china etc. I would ask people making statement to have a little bit more knowledge otherwise everybody just share feeling. Like I feel the earth is flat...
What I did notice is that since the court settlement, Lii Song has stopped using Lii Audio on his drivers, and since then lii song did not realease new stuff it seems when lii audio made some triax speaker, 21" woofer, coaxial....
Whatever people think, i went to China for work last october, met with a friend who work quite close to lii audio headquarters and told me now the business is going well so it seems whatever talk online, things has been cleaned up well.

Great line! Are you saying SEALING is a good business strategy in your opinion?
Let's not forget—it was Lii Audio's products that built a strong reputation in this field long before Lii Song came along. So what exactly has B achieved on the technical front? I haven’t seen them release any meaningful tech updates since they got sued. Meanwhile, Lii Audio has already launched some bold and original projects, yet you’re choosing to ignore them.
Just because they use a different waveguide cone and magnetic structure, you call it a counterfeit? Are you blind, or are the buyers blind? Don’t even bring up the frame—plenty of brands share the same frame to cut costs, and no one complains about that! The performance should be different and it will be different, why whining?
I thought audiophiles generally share a basic understanding: strictly speaking, if even a single component is different, then it’s a different product—especially when it comes to speaker drivers. Even if it’s an official reissue using different materials, audiophiles would never consider it the same as that iconic model from 1985
Haters gonna hate! 🤣

Reading this thread from beginning to the end I wonder why Lii Audio instagram page link never mentioned?
Don't know who's running the Lii Audio (not Lii Song) instagram account, but everything is in English and it's nice to browse all the news with images.
Interesting that many statements from Lii Audio (not Lii Song) instagram posts and comments are almost exactly duplicated in this thread 🙂 Even pictures of the driver stickers, amp testing, showroom interior etc from their instagram account uploaded in this thread (or vice versa).
Honestly my first impression was that our poster from France ran this instagram for them, because I saw a post from an audio show in France that is not related to the Lii Audio products, correct me if I'm wrong @caisson rj 🙂
Personally I like instagram communication between manufacturer/dealer and customers, they can clearly see who is who by browsing each other's accounts with images. I left several comments on Lii Audio (not Lii Song) instagram and they responded quickly, so the page is alive. Please check, ask questions and report back.
They don't have a Facebook account or fan page, group or whatever as far as I know, I couldn't find anything, except Lii Song related stuff.
Anyway I much prefer instagram than FB. If the Lii Song instagram is official and run by their representatives I wish they operate as a business account for potential buyers from abroad, instead of their Ali Express international shop which is the only source for international buyers now. Not sure if they can accept PayPal payment on Ali Express, because PayPal buyer's protection is a must have option (imo).
Unfortunately the drivers from their amazon dealers are not available at the moment.

Wow. I had no idea this existed. Thanks it's a great testament to the dedication and love of audio. 🙏
I absolutely, unequivocally refuse to participate with either of them, losing out on some groups, a channel to some people from the past. Here's one reason, just a simple browse out of curiosity gets you -Anyway I much prefer instagram than FB.
No, I dont want to log in, reactivate my last used 15+ years ago FB account; I'd rather go without if you're going to harass me to this level over a casual, one time view of something. Same with "Pinterest". I think I even have an account there, but when they blank me out in a similar manner, I just leave the site, despite it being something everyone flocks to for some reason. I simply wont tolerate greed-driven policy at this level.
@jjasniew You must have an instagram account to browse instagram now, this is the rules of Meta for everyone (it's not a Lii Audio asking you to register). It's better to use an instagram application (not a web browser). If you don't use social media or you don't have an instagram app you're definitely missing the ease of communication nowadays, because each respected brand is on instagram nowadays. So download the app, register and enjoy.
Myspace and Friendster aren't missed, likewise those two. Any corporation that hides its product info behind a registration would be wise to reconsider their marketing strategy.
@rdf Let me make it clear again: Registration is necessary to browse any instagram account, no matter what, this is required by Meta (owners of Insta and FB), ever heard about Mr. Zuckerberg?
For example, if you like to look at Mark Audio Japan on instagram you also must be registered in this social media platform. Where else you will find japan made speaker cabinets for those Mark Audio FR drivers?
It’s obvious that you never used instagram app if you post something like this, because for those who use the app it is nice to find any brand they like in audio and look at their product instead of using terrible chinese marketplaces like aliexpress with tons of horrible ads pushing you something you don’t even want to see.
Of course everyone is free to ignore smartphones and listen to CDs in 2025.

Manufacturers have a wide range of options beyond demanding potential consumers discard basic privacy for 'convenient and exciting' perusing of their catalogs but you do you. The comical aspect is Facebook might kick back to manufacturers for referrals.
Even on oldschool audio forums like this a stranger must be a registered and approved member first to post something, on many other audio forums even to open attached images a stranger must be logged in first.
I don’t understand what we discuss here? I shared instagram of this particular brand for those who are already using the instagram app, not to convince grandparents to use it 🙂
Your google browser collects more data about you right now, let's get back to the topic!

Joins Tuesday, does little since but hype Lii social media and social media in general, dismisses direct replies as off topic. Adios. 🤔
