It is singing!
I have had only a minor time in the morning.
What can I say, it is dead quiet, except if it plays music. 😉

About the sound shortly, it brings life to music.

Dear Zen Mod,
Thank you for your answer!
So the formula is simple here: more is better.
There is a problem, even if you have some JFETs, there is quite difficult to find proper octets.
Despite of this, I have three octets, the first one is from the IP package I've bought, these are at about 5.5mA range:

The second, I've selected these with some patient work, at about 7.45mA.
These are playing now in IP, perhaps with a little bit more determination.

The third, I've bought some years ago from Alweit.
These are V type JFETs, at around 13mA.
I think these will be the final candidates.
I think I will not bother myself with piggybacking.

@maltboy1 - One last thought. It may be sacrilege, but ... if you're willing to potentially walk on the wild side... you really don't even need a header and header cap. I'd bet a nice meal that in more than 90% of situations with a balanced build, that the cap won't come off again after it's installed.

You could... save a few pennies and some hassle if you don't already have the parts and just put a wire jumper in after you null your offset...

For SE... it's nice to have the header / header cap in case people want to change the gain... for balanced... go for what makes you happy.

Just sayin' 😉

For the 3-pin jumper header on the Iron Pre SE boards, 'Fancy Boyz' can consider the 3P HEADER GOLD 15u single row from TE Connectivity - Mouser PN 571-5-146280-3.

It is gold and will guaranteed elevate the aesthetic of your board to the next level, perfectly matching the gold solder pads.
