Asynchronous I2S FIFO project, an ultimate weapon to fight the jitter

yes, the thicker the wire, the lower the resistance.
but I think that the connector on the FiFoPi cannot accept a thicker wire than 1.5 mm2

Noticed this correlation here. mm goes up, DC resistance goes down:

1.5mm is about 15AWG, so 1.5mm should work with the Keystone terminals (14AWG max). Can't comment on Generic terminals.

Hello,
If you look at the position of the head of the bolt it is no '' levelled '' with the connector itself. Would probably never pass quality check at my company.
Greetings, Eduard
Even though it's securely screw torque-tightened on the terminals, do you think it's a good idea to also solder in the terminals on both the UcPure and UcBalancer?
In the inside of the connector there is a piece of metal connected by soldering to the board . If this metal is somehow '' impure '' ( will always be compared to your cable) this will downgrade the end result. Of course poking around with your soldering iron could create a short circuit!
For bolts there are several '' classes '' in my country 8.8 being the most common. At my company sometimes we use a higher number. But a local diy store just sold 4.6 or 4.8 ( did not even know they existed) but got numerous complaints from customers so they had to adjust profit margin and just supply the better ones.
Greetings, Eduard

I reserve the right to replace my Neotech 18AWG Silver Solid Core with Mundorf ~15AWG (1.5mm) Silver Solid Core in the future for Clock-related if I can find a USA Supplier. Same with Mundorf Cooper into the StationPi @1.5mm.

Since my Infrastructure can handle 14AWG+ (1.62mm) and I should be able to squeeze ~15AWG (1.5mm) into Mundorf Connectors that Max out at 16AWG (1.29mm). I just have to purchase a good quantity of Mundorf Connectors until my AliExpress crimper can get a good snag.

I noticed Mundorf has a Gold option besides Silver and Cooper. I can't fathom that possibility at this time since I'm in a bit of a Production Freeze. I think too much diminishing returns for the Gold option.

Hello,
The last few inches of the '' track ''will be a soldering track. How about dc resistance '' over there ''?
Of course carefully positioning of the UC caps can reduce cable 50% so serie resistance will go down 50% as well.
What about RFI?EMI if you reduce cable length, if you run plus and min next to each other or if you make them form a nice loop like you usually see in the picture by Drive Shaft. NO ONE bothering about that? Not important?
No money to be made by reducing cable length.
It is a business!

I'll try to keep things short and tight. I have zero worries over RFI/EMI as I don't use Transformers. My Medical Grade Mean Well has RF Filters built-in and my high quality wiring is resistant to any RF possibilities sneaking in like a Trojan Horse.

The Mean Well would not be able to be so well-certified if it wasn't well built + QC so I'm confident in my whole UcPure chain:

Hello,
I am in the Netherlands but i think there are more deadly shootings in the USA than there are bedbugs in France. I think if they are caught the French will fry them.
Greetings, Eduard

Oh, my memory must be bad. A few years ago, you mentioned France either for living or work-related so I just assumed you were from France. I didn't mention bedbugs to take a shot at France. I'm just trying to dissemenate if it's fake news or not. The bedbugs have been public news over the Summer, but now there are reports this month that it's all just Propaganda. Only the French locals have first-hand knowledge of this situation so I was hoping to get a local's perspective not to take a cheap shot at France.

I found some photos @ Audiophonics and a Korean site. I think the Mundorf Solid is similar to Neotech Solid Core.

So I think it's more location-dependent now. If I was in Europe, I'll pursue a Mundorf solution. In North America, a Neotech solution unless you can find a good supplier for Mundorf.

If I went Mundorf, I would take a chance on SGW115.

The SGW110 seems nice too if you want to play it safe, but I would rather go all out on the SGW115 w/ PTFE sleeving.

Hello,
I meant inside the terminal there is a pin soldered to the board to make a contact and to keep the connector from moving. This a bit like a bend paperclip so to say.
Rfi/emi is more than nearby transformers spreading '' garbage '' all around. Could be one of your many electrical devices. Dont you know about areas in hospital where mobile phones are forbidden?
Of course if Ian can sell us his supercap stuff he does not have to tell us more than is needed to make us buy it.
I think we have read about the boards having optimum routing for tracks, maybe high speed tracks, ticker tracks BUT if these boards are connected with to long cables, cables creating loops and cables passing through areas where they should not be there is no guidance.
The Parisian bugs will be eaten by the rats. I see and read increasing number of rats are populating the cities in European cities. I remember reading '' la pese '' by Albert Camus. Back to middle ages....

My goal was just to get the UcPure "Up and Running", so I haven't had a chance to look inside the terminal. My new goal will be to optimise by soldering to the terminal so I'll look out for that pin. Again, safety. So I'll decouple all the parts before I attempt to solder.

Yes, RF is all around us but I have taken all the modern steps possible that it's eliminated from my Audio system. I decouple with UcPure or LiFePO4 for power-related (No Mains, optical isolators) and decouple with optical for USB and SPDIF data (No Trojan Horse). My wiring is completely Solid Core with Teflon protection from RF. No Traditional Cooper Wiring which is easily susceptible to RF. It's a Pure Modern RF-free chain. There's not much more I can do unless extreme like Faraday Case, 3M absorbtion sheets, ShieldPi, RF-filtered power strips to connect Mean Well, etc.

This is DIY. Ian is not our Parent, Mentor or Guardian. It's a difficult balance. These products he churns out are not simple. Without Ian and Andrea's help, I would of likely quit a long time ago but I'm glad I stuck through as the payoff was enormous.

Again, it's DIY, so there is not set guidelines on implementation. We just have to hope users post document a bit of their project for future reference.

The bedbugs is a thing because schools in Paris have been closing down. I just wish Paris luck to get rid of them before the Olympics. All International Travel Hubs are vulnerable. Reports from London and Germany. In Asia, high Government alerts in Singapore, Hong Kong and South Korea. I have to bring my flamethrower when I travel.

I just got a e-mail that Andrea launched 7 new products. One interesting one was a USB product.

Since RPi5 release, I'm just going to stay the course with RPi5 because separating RPi Power via the StationPis and pure 16-bit Redbook is important to I. With USB, there's no choice but to 32-bit and I just want shortest, cleanest path possible with no gimmicks since my whole chain revolves around optimising Redbook (5.6448MHz SOTA Clock, Well-Mastered Redbook, etc). So it's unwise to put in all the work and investment in physical media, then have to contanminate with USB.

I don't know if this will work with the ReceiverPi DDC and since I gave up on RPi-less, I have no further interest and can't comment on this product:

Hello,
If bed bugs will reduce the commercialization of sport i will start breeding bed bugs!!
I heard in some years time they will organize football/soccer event in the desert.
Sport should be about giving kids the possibility to learn to swim while learning how to write, read, draw , sing at a certain level. But nowadays people leaving educational system at the age of 20 make spelling mistakes i stopped making before leaving primary school.
If you create a post here with attachments like photos and pdf files the photos get viewed but reading a pdf no way.
And when people read they wanna do other things at the same time cannot just sit down and read!
You are right, Ian is just a salesman. Some people will manage to get things working and others will leave and buy a turntable!

cleanest chain possible with no gimmicks
Hello,
I got the email too.
Andrea is not so fond of turning his circuit boards into a big Christmas decoration.
I use tablet to choose the music i wanna hear. Once there is music i am listening to music. If i decide to stream scatology by Coil once it is playing i will remember what it is until it has ended i hope.
If things are not working a screen that can be connected easily and or switched on/off easily is a NICE plus maybe it can indicate where the culprit is. BUT if you see the numbers of questions still popping up here there is still a lot to be desired.
Greetings, Eduard

Although sport has been weaponised, I feel for the mental health of the Olympic athletes if the bedbugs are not eradicated. Imagine trying to mentally prepare for your once in a lifetime peak performance by getting good rest and focus, then the bedbugs become a distraction. Even upscale hotels have been getting hit hard. Maybe they will build the athletes quaratine facilities which are cold. Bedbugs don't like cold, they like to hide in warm places. So a cold, quarantine interior design should isolate the bedbugs from settling down.

I never said or implied Ian was a salesman. He's evolving because his hard work has led to growth. With growth, he has to turn his attention to being more salesman-like. So this year, he seems 10% Influencer, 80% R&D Engineer, 10% CEO. So there's less time for Ian to hold our hands. For I, I'm just thankful for the UcBalancer, UcPure, LiFePO4, SinePi and modern Toslink solutions. The hurdles without hand holding can be overcome. None of us are the same we were a decade ago. We grow, so expecting the same Ian from a decade ago holding our hands is not realistic. He has a growing business to manage along with R&D.

Oh, Gen Z cannot read Analog Clocks so they are phasing out Analog Clocks.

I'm hoping to make the Steam Deck OLED my Audiophile UI. Otherwise, iPad OLEDs are around the corner as backup.

What was the reason you abandoned the Pi-less setup?

Initially, I was interested in a Pi-less setup on the off-chance Ian would implement native USB (no clocking) with no third-party USB adapters with the unreleased ReceiverPi DDC but we are not at that iteration yet. I wanted more CPU Power, specifically a Xeon CPU. I wanted to install my own Audiophile Industrial RAM with PCI-E USB.

pgal_211111_wp4nqo.jpg

But to do this, I would want to power it with the UcPure.

Post-COVID, I assumed RPi would be stagnant at not evolve. With the new RPi5, it's about 3X as powerful as the RPi4.

So this rabbit hole of going RPi-less I cannot justify. The motherboard is about $2000, Audiophile RAM about $400 and UcPure 16V about $800. Although I can use my LiFePO4 Flagship @ 16.5V as an alternative (sunk cost).

I don't like USB for audio anyways, so I just gave up on RPi-less.

So:
  1. The third-party USB adapter has clocks. I don't want to clock the USB signal.
  2. It would be my secondary, not my primary source. I already have a production general use USB chain.
  3. I don't want anything to do with USB on the Audio side.
  4. I'm strictly Redbook for Music listening, so I have to give up on a pure Redbook chain. USB compromises the chain.
  5. The Rabbit Hole of building a UcPure 16V, Xeon motherboard, Audiophile RAM is too steep.
I got more CPU Power via RPi5, so I just gave up building the above. Also for anything USB, I prefer a ASM3142 USB Chipset which I hope the ReceiverPi DDC has one day.

My USB use case for Gaming and General Purpose Use is already set by a USB PCI-E card as it's foundation. I use it for casual Music listening. But I just don't see a need for a Ian stack at this time. I like to keep my SPDIF Ian Stack purely independent now that I don't need Xeon CPU power.

I'm really happy powering my USB optical cable with UcPure. I'm able to finish Video Games like never before due to zero fatigue via zero RF anywhere.

But basically, RPi5 made me drop RPi-less.
