After browsing the reviews, no secret told at 6 moons with regard to rectification. Wondering if it uses the newer LT technology.

A close look at the pictures in the 6 Moons review shows the large SOT-227B “hockey puck” style components. The part numbers are not visible.
I have used IXYS VBE60-06A rectifiers with good results in some of my recent builds. They are relatively quiet and have low voltage loss in higher power/voltage applications.

Same here 🤔I wish I didn't read this. MOS is great but now there's the question. What if SIT....

But until the question is decided - and I tend to build the MOS - here a picture of the boards in progress:

if having both OS Parts IXYS Pucks, there is no need for any additional pcb fiixing points to heatsink
especially not as those uuuuuugly holes you drilled on top

these two 3.2mm mounting holes are for case when SIT is on right side, wired instead of puck mos
Yes, normally not, but the boards will not be attached to the heat sink but will be mounted horizontally.
And the ugly holes won't be visible

For about six months, I've had a SissySIT. It superseded an F4 ( itself outstanding ).
None of the other amps have been powered up much... perhaps just the A2s for a few hours.
I even tried the SissySIT with the Maggie 1.7s. It damn floored me how well they sounded, not loud mind you and the bass was not in the same league s the 200wpc A2s... BUT...
So, now I'm on the path to achieve the XA252 ( Mas Macho ) SIT... and if ZM gets around it, the BigBaddahBing SIT... how serious I'm I about this? I recently bought a quad set of Tokins to be ready...
A 100wpc SIT might be the One Amp To Rule Them All.
I am voting for "take a sit" as amp name....@Zen Mod
Ask? We will ask for the World, even if all we get is a 60 year old Citroen 2CV with a burn out tail light and a fundamental smell of Ripe Roquefort. Arguably, asking gets you something... otherwise just go to your local dealer and spent money on a Bose soundbar. (My son, much to my dismay, did this).
Oh, I don't criticize for one second your designs/modifications. Far from it, I'm enjoying them greatly, thanks. They sound awesome and, unlike a commercial product, they have far less compromises and allow user involvement.
I just wonder about the names of some of them, that's all. What Next? La BaSITlle ? You know, the one we have to use pitchforks to use and only plays Robespierre's Revolutionary Songs -and Chopin.
Ask, ask... how's the BigBaddahBing ( Boom?) Coming along? I went and bought the quad set of Tokins for it...
SIT for themassesMaggies..

Honestly, I don't much care about the name.... just to hear 100 wpc of SIT power through a pair of Maggie 1.7s. It will settle things down after five years of rather tumultuous audio search....
Preamp line stages will still be an issue though. The Iron Pre Balanced or the Conrad Johnson single ended ET3SE... hmmm.....

I am going mosfet. I do have a couple pairs of sits, so I will no doubt try it later. Should have gone ahead and drilled/tapped their holes. No biggie to drill/tap couple more holes later, would necessitate board removal anyhow....I will stick to the MOS only version, promised![]()

I have a quad, but also have sissy sit ready to go. This amp swiped it's chassis. The Sissy swiped it from my second Aleph J (small board two ouput/side) build. All's fair. For about six months, I've had a SissySIT. It superseded an F4 ( itself outstanding ).

Once built, I don't touch it. Stuff is cheap.
Learned this lesson in '95 when I updated an 486 to a Pentium. It would have been cheaper to build a Pentium from scratch.
Computer stuff I do get rid of.... even if it took like 30 years to get rid of the Centronix printer cables...
I've pretty much run of space to put things though... 🙄

OK, 4 on the way. I'm almost there, last parts I needed, well for right this second!A close look at the pictures in the 6 Moons review shows the large SOT-227B “hockey puck” style components. The part numbers are not visible.

Oh, they weren't built yet, just a pile of parts waiting for power supply and transformer, but then XA 252 became available. I have only cannibalized one working amp, the F6. I felt it was closer to F5 in sound, and I wanted Aleph J.^ " This amp swiped it's chassis."

It became an instant favorite, so never looked back. But- I will rob parts boxes for other projects. I've got a BBA3 box, even with Toshiba Jfets....I likely will not build that amp now, interests drifted away, and since balance seems to kill the 2nd order distortion, not sure if that is the sound I want? Then, XA 252. I've got a lot of money in parts boxes....at least 3-4 pres, and 5 or so power amps.

That's a great point. I guess I could run the CJ ET3SE -single ended- and the Iron Pre balanced into the XA 252... and try which side I like best.
But I think @Zen Mod is biased towards keeping 2nd order distortion in his amps? Most of us here are... aren't we? Isn't that what makes Nelson's basic design so good sounding?
@Zen Mod.. QUESTION... if I plugged an Iron Pre balanced AND a single ended CJ ET3SE preamp into the inputs of the XA252SIT., at the same time... other than remembering the lower gain via the SE inputs ( the Conrad Johnson can swing 20Vpp ) will I damage anything?
I suppose I'd turn off the preamp I wasn't using. But will the low output impedance of the turned off preamp affect the active preamp? I mean, I could reach back and plug/unplug but sometimes I'm lazy.

Well, it seems like from the reviews, it has transparency, but isn't losing body? I have never heard one or a sit amp either at this point but maybe it retains magic even when balanced. Zenmod is probably laughing right now ...I am sure he knows and obviously has heard all of them!
