The New Hypex Fusion Plate amps

I have two enclosures with each containing two FA's. The master already had the IR receiver and it was convenient Io put the display on a slave. There was no necessity.

But you need to get used to this. When you point the remote to the display, nothing happens. Only the OK button works.
You have to point the remote to the master to control the FA's and look at the display on the slave to see what happens.

I have two new FA503 Week2/2023 with firmware 5.5 connect to Visaton Vox 253 MTI floor standing. Previously I had a miniDSP nanoDIGI with three Cambridge Audio DACs.

I am not here to compain about the quirky HFD software (I used Biquads in miniDSP anyway) but for a quesion regarding the order in which filters are to be entered.

In what circumstances is this important / relevant? Should I put room eq / room curve on the left of all 3 biquad chain or the right?

Biquad sub-menu When you select exactly two biquads on the same channel, you can exchange their parameters by right clicking on of the two and click on “Exchange with …”Picture 15: Right click on one of two selected biquads This feature can come in handy when you want to optimize the DSP calculations for your filter. Build your filter in the graphical section and afterwards, sort biquads with this option.

No I did not connect the display to the master but I suppose that should work without problems as that is the intended use case. Hypex support is informed about the other problems.
Now It finally seems to work as it should. None of my FA123 works correctly as master with display, but when I changed one of my FA252's to master, it seems to work as intended. No more Fawlty Towers;)
BTW I had no issues updating the firmware with the new HFD.

OK then I will attempt to asnwer my own question.
Let's take a Butterworth 7th order filter. The 3rd 2nd order filter stage has a Q of 2.25 which makes a nice 7.7dB peak. Under normal circumstances apply the filters in order of the stages. But if you are cutting the gain of that channel by 8dB anyway, do the cut first then go straight to the the 3rd 2nd order filter stage followed by the other lower Q filter stages and save your bits. In this regards, the HFD GUI makes it easy to save your bits.

Hi ! Tried to write to an old AS2.100 thread, but it appears to be closed.
I bricked my AS2.100 : (. I had constant issues with the preset uploads (the USB connection was not reliable.). Tried to reflash the firmware.
During the process the USB connection probably broke and now i have a bricked unit. Do you know some kind of workaround? To reset the unit, make it discoverable and reflash again.

After contacting the Hypex support + several mails exchanged the issue is resolved. :)
I had to reflash the PIC microcontroller of AS2.100 main board.

BTW the issue with the partial preset upload is not present when I changed the version of HFD to 4.97.
The latest v4.981 is only partially loading the preset to the unit. 10x again @ gnl for the tip!

From today's newsletter:

FIR FILTER OPTION RELEASE

The FIR filter option is now available in HFD 5.0 and can be easily downloaded from our product page on the web shop or via the link below. This option can be used on your Fusion Amp from version 03xx, except for the FA502 and FA503 which can be used from version 05xx. To access the new FIR capabilities, update your Fusion Amp firmware to version V5.7.

Alas, my FA123 does not accept v5.7 :(
