And what did we buy today?

I designed a PCB for depletion MOSFET gain. So I put it in production to see how it is.

I wouldn't buy a car that wasn't all black 🙂
I did, in 2001, because it was the ONLY manual-gear Accord in the state. Even in Maine it gets hot (I gave up seeing the dirt). And a lot of people seem to have trouble seeing a black car on black pavement in twilight.

In my recent shopping, it seems like half the cars are one or the other grey (some say silver which just means expensive grey). Next up a LOT of black (midnight pearl metallic is still black). Then a lot of near-white, off-white, pearl-white....

That's part of why I put dibs on a car that won't be built for months, it is a ruby-red (>$400 for "premium paint") but still with black interior.

Bunch of plastic screw clips to fix what is hopefully a loose inner fender on my wife's car and making a bloody racket, 20 sticks of 4GB DDR3 ECC RAM for only $30 for my old tech super PC project which calls into question the whole point of the project but just couldn't resist the deal, and a couple of whetstones when I saw my MIL had lent out my grass cutter and it looked none too sharp.

Nice. Full write up tomorrow?
Thanks.
I don't really have a reference system at the moment that merits such a nice preamp. I moved to a smaller space for a while. Had to get it off the market because it was such a great deal. Recently factory refresh/refurbished too.

I literally have bookshelf speakers on bookshelves. I'm so excited i just wanted to share it with the world.
Hope to bring it to a diy audio friend's house to see what it can really do.
Was told it needs 24 hours to warm up, and it's true. I can sense the potential but it didnt sound good the first 10 minutes after power on that i listened.

Browsing some local ads I found this beautiful 1957 console hi-fi!
It is mono of course. It has two EL84 tubes in push-pull. Line preamp is ECC83, as is the phase splitter. Phono preamp is two stages of ECC83. Two 10" and three 5" speakers. The condition from the outside is promising, I haven't checked the inside yet. I paid the equivalent of 160 dollars, total, freight included (local)! The records were included!
