I have been trying it with different gears over the holiday vacations and I’m very impressed by it. Tried it with 3 different sources and a few amplifiers. Sounds great!!!
well, nothing new, then

again, if transparency and signal energy preservation are your goals with line stage, you'll hardly find better one, price tag irrelevant

Congratulations, pinocchioThis preamplifier is just phenomenal! Love it!!!
Thanks ZM!!!
Happy New Year!

You made a very wise audio choice.
Hi ZM,
I hope you're well!
Could you please contact me regarding that remote volume control? I really would love to complete my build and place it in the audio rack where it belongs.
All the best!

I couldn't wait (contribution to the GDP can wait...) and opened the package. The kit had a protection against atomic, biological and chemical weapons so it took some time 🤣
Cold joints and fried critters. Better seek reimbursement from Mighty and send that wreckage to NMZMVDF (New Mighty ZM Viking depository facilityI couldn't wait (contribution to the GDP can wait...) and opened the package. I finished my Iron Pumpkin a couple months ago but have been waiting to put it to use until I finished my Sony VFET (the previous version - push/pull). Today I've connected them up but think I need a bit more gain. Even on the maximum gain setting, I'm not really able to drive my NOLA Vipers very well. But when I use my McIntosh C36, all is well. I'm wondering if I could add a Wayne's BA2018 linestage after that IP (and set gain of IP to 0). What sort of evil will I be invoking in such an arrangement? I suppose the true DIY answer is to build a set of OB speakers...
good to hear that its singing
now, I wrote several times - you can think of ( and use it that way) IP as damn good selector/volume setting box
feel free to connect afterwards whatever blingie is adequate for your gain and/or Sugar-bringing needs
that way having everything you need - cozy selection and lossless volume setting and voltage swing and sweetnes you want
and yeah - No Porn, No Glory

Excellent, thanks. I may put the linestage in and make it switchable so I can use IP as proper preamp with more efficient speakers. Photos soon - impeded by laziness and time spent listening.good to hear that its singing

And, by the way, the link you provided in post #2 about gain structure is very helpful. Here 'tis again:

Make it super ugly - only possible way to have it for good, without someone buying it of me, as it already happened few times with those I had as mine - simply because they already been on disposal. One of cases I bought cheaply, exactly for prototypes purpose, redundant pcbs ( leftovers from protowork) used for both front and back plates, old/initial crude display. As intended to serve also as demo specimen, set of gain setting jumpers replaced with battery of relays, controlled with 5-step rotary switch at back. Title on functional display sez "SE", will re-flash later, because I evidently made it balanced - 3 SE inputs, 2 Bal inputs.
Lousy pics - Alu case elements showing bad on white background
