DAC AD1862: Almost THT, I2S input, NOS, R-2R

Real PCM63P
Classic proper Japanese look there. Where did they come from?

Why is the original only "made in Japan"? Aren't they made in other places, the USA, the Philippines?
Why not? Its neigh impossible to disprove unusual chips aren't rare originals with atypical markings. But paying money for them untested and unseen is another thing. Thank goodness for AD1862 and Miro and Paddy 🙂
I'll do it when I get home from work.
Thanks. It till only take a minute and hopefully end the speculation.

Still working. I haven't turned it off since. A month and a few days.😎
Still using those fake Y grade huh 🙂

Pin 9/10 - 1067R and 1092R
Thanks.

Were the ICs out of the DAC?

If so thats way off spec for both ICs in terms of PCM63. The 1500ohmn feedback resistor should have high value accuracy, to provide channel balance on the output.

Please confirm with a few more resistance probes with the ICs on the bench please to help PCMxx ident:
Pin 8 to Pin 9
Pin 20 to Pin 23

May God help the others in their search for Y. There is no pair under 300 euros. 🤣

Theres no need for divine intervention. As soon as a Chinese entrepreneur reads about the need for special Y grade at 300Euro from all your stoned out raving, the supply will get much better. With computer graphics and your lovely photos the new supply will look even better then yours.

Yours look way to clean to be originals. Ill give you ten bucks each for them 🙂
