Q: Measuring Frequency Response of PP Output Transformer

Today i measured an unknown transformer.. I have it for 15 years and it was in a box with a a lot of tubes i bought.
It is a toroidal transformer with unknown speciafications. Here is the frequency response (Ra=2000 Ohm. Rs=8 Ohm

Guys, you don't understand, tubes4all is a genius, everyone else here is a fool (read Partridge 🙂 ).

To me the graph looks like there is a short between the primary and the secondary in that trafo.
Forget about Partridge, read the Bible - Radiotron. 😎

When you post something serious with addtional tech info.
Not only the signal at +/- 80 mV
You specify Ra=2000 ohms and wrote a "unknown speciafication". ????????????????
It is a joke
Wrong!

As I said, it is a transformer with unknown specifications, but your lack of imagination and knowledge is a bigger problem.
Maybe this picture will help. Btw I changed the measurements a bit, now I used a 4 Ohm resistor instead of 8 Ohm. I added also
some extra information.

Thank you for your kind words, but I haven't actually done anything special. Just brought to everyone's attention a scientific article, which unfortunately seems a bit too difficult for some here.

btw your bible, Radiotron, used Partridge's articles as a reference, see p253

Guys, correct me if I am wrong, but according to my calculations, from his graph and data,
-3dB is at 2Hz,
with turns ratio of 38, and secondary load of 4 Ohm,
it gets to Lpri = 454 H at 2Hz.
I wonder what kind of core imaterial is in there.
That got to be quite a Partridge 😎

There is no test conditions in that data sheet. It says it is for the application with such and such tubes,
so I assume the FR is in the amp with gNFB about 20dB. What does it say about the trafo itself?
Not much. What will be the sound? We don't know.
Hi
Another thing is that the frequency response is at same level(apparently) with different configuration
So it is possible that the Zs of generator is the same (low) for all
Last thing is about weight
Following a old post from Mr 80 mV this OT can’t be good because the weight is 1.1 kg only

😂

Yes, Walt, you are absolutely right. With the input level of some mV, it could have been any core, 1.1 or 0.5, at those levels you normally test an input transformer.

Mr Liar,

It is for a guitar amplier, didn’t you read the manual? Dum and dummer…..

Another one from Menno

I warn you, this is probably too difficult again.....l

Guys, I think this thread should be closed, or Tubes4all should be banned, then we could have some sensible discussion. Tubes4all is not stupid, he is just trying to get everyone into stupid argument.
Either to pick our brains, or to prove to himself how smart/great he is. Either of those is the sign of arrogance or/and extreme personal ego.
If you noticed, TS is not participating here, I know him from the other websites, he is a very knowledgeable and respectful man.
