I remember taking a bus from Delhi to Agra and there were several craters caused by LNG tanker trucks which had run off the road and exploded. In Sri Lanka, the sole refinery has run out of crude oil, and people have died waiting in hours long lines at gas stations for fuel.
For those grumbling, look around you, and reassure yourself that you are better off than most.
This makes me think of a famous 1953 french movie about nitroglycerin transportation by truck. The Wages of FearI remember taking a bus from Delhi to Agra and there were several craters caused by LNG tanker trucks which had run off the road and exploded.
American remake: Violent road

That seems to be a popular thriller movie combo back in the days. 🤔 Here is another one, "to drive two trucks filled with unstable dynamite (leaking nitroglycerin) up a long and rocky mountain road in order to plug an escalating oil refinery blaze."nitroglycerin transportation by truck.
When was that?
LNG transportation by truck is about 5 years old here, LPG is common since 1970s.
Those are usually 15 tons of LPG, and the result of such an explosion would have made a very large hole, and the shrapnel from the thick plates used in the build would have killed many people.
Must have been LPG cylinders, or the terrible construction, a combination of corrupt inspectors and contractors who have criminal backgrounds.

Yes, probably LPG, I stand corrected! When was that?

80 paise per liter, about 1 cent, plus taxes.
Less than 1%, though there may be creeping changes daily.

I haven't driven in a long time but last time I bought gas it was about $US 2.30/gallon.
My buddy was driving me from the doctor last week and stopped for gas. I gave him $20 and asked what the price of gas was. He said $4.90/gallon, 30 cents higher than yesterday. I gave him another $20.

Who would need this monster of a vehicle given the high gas cost. I saw it inside the parking lot today and had to shake my head.
Don't you want to wait till you find out who drives it and why before shaking your head?I saw it inside the parking lot today and had to shake my head.
Police here use those for canine transport duties. Lots of room in back for a large Shepherd.

If you have 3 kids under the age of 8, you can just about fit all their car seats, wife and luggage in such an SUV.Who would need this monster of a vehicle given the high gas cost. I saw it inside the parking lot today and had to shake my head.
Last month paid $0.7659 per MCF for natural gas heat.
I carry a Great Pyrenees, 98 pounds and taller than any police dog, in my Accord.canine transport duties. Lots of room in back for a large Shepherd.
Our contractors think the Yukon is a small vehicle.
But once it gets used to a bigger interior of... say, GMC Yukon XL, it may not want to go back. 🤔I carry a Great Pyrenees, 98 pounds and taller than any police dog, in my Accord.
In Europe we use this kind of cars for it, a wagon aka break. It's also big in interior space, and this 2019 Skoda Octavia Wagon (i own one) uses 5.5L/100km (42,77 mpg) in reality. It's very lightweight build, so it has enough at 120HP to go fast, even when loaded... And it's also rugged enough to take dirt roads or roads in bad shape (like i have a lot where I live). those big gas guzzler SUV's are not really needed, they are just bought for status and ego reasons down here (in most cases altough).
Yes, there are some big vehicle owners for status and ego reasons here in the US and one reason I've heard was to compensate for small ****. But there are more legit reasons as well such as large family and or just large people. A few years ago, I've read it in some travel site that some of the most common reactions from foreign visitors to US are how big the roads are, how big the food portions are in restaurants and how big the typical cars are.those big gas guzzler SUV's are not really needed, they are just bought for status and ego reasons down here (in most cases altough).

My sister went to Canada, the restaurant portion was 12 pancakes with syrup.
Could eat only 4, full.
Had to trash the rest.

Was she visiting Alberta?
I've never seen such portions here. A large breakfast would still only come with 2 pancakes...
