🟢 loudspeakers SB Acoustics 4 way Under development.

As for Sure/Wondom, look here. X-over: the crossover you need to 'tune' your 4-way system. Yes, the Hypex only come in 3-way, so you'd need another separate amp. Or: use a passive crossover on the high-mid to high frequency loudspeakers. Using two 2-way Hypex plate amps is a possibility too.
If you want amps that look -ahem- nice too, spend them bucks on a fancy audiophile brand. Personally, I have found that relatively cheap amps perform stellar, even chip amp designs do. I would therefore not consider spending my money on such equipment. This will play most if not all other amps away, if you need an example.
This is the DIY amplifier by master engineer Hugo Ribeiro:
H2B
Continuation

I bought a pair to use on the two highest frequencies or just the theeter in case there is no power to push both drivers.
It is a high quality project.
I confess that I'm prejudiced like any audiophile (if I can call it that because of my attachment to the musical art) regarding class D for audiophilia, except in the case of bass.

I once came into possession of a pro audio sound card that was also locked but to Windows 98. Sort of. The company that made it was called Mayo....
....
. So yea this card was thrown out and all of those big half a million dollar Neave mixing boards where stuffed into storage closets only to end up getting scrapped later on.

Not uncomon.
Early digital tools were sometimes custom jobs. I've seen things like that.
Big analog console especially Neve's have more value when sold into pieces. It was still the case early 2010. This is a shame, those are amongst the best piece of gear ever produced. But greedy are people in studio. They can be very dumb too: when there is a change of technology, people throw out perfectly fine equipment because it is not 'up to date'.
Some older technicians i've met owned some very rare tube microphone ( U47tube, Elam251, U497, C12, U67,...). I once asked how it was possible to have so much of this unobtainable collectible overpriced items. The guy laughed and explained he saved them from dumpster when O.R.T.F. switched to transistors mic. He then said he saved only maybe 5% of what was discarded and was sorry not to have taken the whole lot.
Really?! If he had his grand childrens ( and all the others before) could have not needed to ever work one day in their life...

None of them and you do not need them either.
Read again last part of post #200:
A Focusrite doesn't need this.

Why do i own it ( and Mr Ba have one)? Because Mr Ba purchased the Rosetta and Lynx card from a studio, and i used my gear in one too.
Within this studio environment it make sense to have digital in/out as we use digital gear needing it like digital mixers, recorders, effects box,... in that case then it is interesting to be able to have everything able to be connected together. AES/EBU is one of this digital standard which allow this. Hence the presence of it on our computers as they are our multitracks recorders.

You are not going to use any digital mixing desk Silvio? So no need for that. I repeat only a soundcard like the Focusrite, Motu or RME we already talked about is needed to your case.

And yes you might be in disbelief this to be cheaper than audiophile thingy but truth is that in studio those are tools. They don't look pretty ( audio jewelry Brett talked about) don't have fantasy characteristics but what they do, they do well and stable ( the first criteria of choice in professional area is stability and reliability: you can't work ( and be paid) with something you can't rely on: those are workhorse which works).

Why do you think it is 'hard' versus minidsp or other loudspeaker management units @Viper_user ?

I hope Silvio is contemplating options, this is what he stated previously.

From my experience what is 'hard' is in the measurement department ( the methodology) and interpretation. But it is the same either passive or active filtering...

The hard part indeed is in the measuring of the acoustical output, interpreting measurements against certain goals one has to define and to finetune results, while adjusting design goals. Though a lot of that is just a lot of work, not so much rocket science.

Ok.
Valid concern Viper_User

Let me clarify:
With the different pc based system i installed or being asked to help whit i've seen three main area where issues could happen:

_ 1 )software, more precisely audio drivers and communication between different softwares used;
_ 2) hardware incompatibility;
_ 3) ergonomics.

This is what i experienced but that is not definitive: other issues could happen of course. But this is what i've seen nonetheless.

1: this is why i think an integrated solution for players and treatments is the ideal answer for home use. From the one i've seen i think Jreaver is the best.
It have very great audio engine, it is open to evolutions either for audio format either for the software upgrade.
There is a huge community of users who can help if stucked with something.
Once it is up and running it is 'technology transparent' to user: you don't have to load profile for different media format ( it is automated), no things to parameters,... you load and play and that's it.
Cons: you have to buy the soft and trust the developpers if you want to upgrade as there is discount if you pay in advance. But there is support and from the one i've seen running, it is stable and doesn't bug even on older versions ( some friends of mine are like me and try to not discard tools that works as it is better for our planet, lower human kind imprint on our environnement... at least... and doesn't make sense at all).

2: we already talked about it and sadly it happens. Some are solvable issues some are not. In my view this is the responsability of the purchaser to check if there is known issues relative to the system he built. In the case of Silvio he is a gamer, so very probably a computer geek and the situation is not very different from what happen in video card world.
This is why i insist about some simple configuration ( 1 soundcard and 1 soft as player/dsp) and from known brands used daily all around the world by musicians.
Those brands of hardware have often forums where you can find infos. This is true for softwares too.

3: ergonomy. Coming from studio and having not so much time to waste with unknown issues with consummer limited software or gear, i often implemented the software part using DAW and plug ins. Especially 15 years ago when it was the 'easiest way'.

This included advanced signal routing within the software ( doing audio groups assigned to physical outputs), using plug ins convolution reverb engines to play the Impulse Response ( the cross over and treatments) and find answer to how link those pro software to players from consummer world ( so with windows taking control over the audio and changing the initial audio contents and not for good...).... all this with funny things like 'plug ins latency compensation' not always implemented or automated within the Daw... and of course you needed that for each sampling frequency you planed to use...

Once finished you had at least two soft playing same time, some not friendly way to control essential things like volume ( you had to go to DAW to control level and player for track selection and play... some peoples could never integrate that!).

Things have changed since. Happily. But still it require to be thoughts beforehands to anticipate things like thats.

I've come to solutions which some dislikes for volume control: using analog control just in front of amp as example( the SPL Volume8 way).... some will scream 'heresy' as it could bring some supposed nasty things. Right. I've got three example (one documented here in Mr Ba's thread)it is not an issue and make life easier... 😉

And hundreds of pro rooms around the world performing same thing... 😉

Yes the volume control will be a nut to crack, you don't want a youtube add, by accident, run flat out on a 200w amp 😀
Otherwise a very good solution with the player inside!

I run a BMC-2 to my Open-DRC-DA8 just to get the feeling of a volume.

Yes why i'm doubfull about windows taking care of audio.
But there is more subtle things happenings too: how do you know windows doesn't route the audio stream through a kernel or something performing 'improvements' over audio?

Are you sure the reading of media is 'bit perfect'?

...

Some former colleague worked for a french's console manufacturer (which sadly closed doors some years ago) called Innovason. Live dedicated digital mixing desk, very very nice.
Software were developed by a very talented guy named Vincent Burrel. I was lucky to meet him and learned a lot from the discussion.
He offer some very nice tools ( some for free) to take care of 'virtual audio cable' who solve this issues if you need to link software or things like that: https://vb-audio.com/

I used the radio dedicated tools too ( banana) and can testify the thing never sees a bug or glitch running 24/7 for 4years in a row. Impressive.

Novis, Nice unit! so you are going to chose the hard solution before the medium (minidsp 4x10)?
In fact, I want to believe that my power of choice is within 30%, I want to be advised, induced in 70% to take the best path, and in this path quality has a very convenient "weight".
I believe the Krivium that "exists in me" would choose the Focusrite Scarlett 18i20.
But as I misinterpreted what I was told several times, I am subject to correction.

BeWARE of the "krivium" in you. You don't want to have the social disorders i have to creep in your life.
Not fun to have to deal with regular people when i can have discussion with you guys and girls.
How boring they are when they run away when starting talking about the benefit of multiamping and high efficiency loudspeakers during party's.

I hate regular people. Lol.
And why i prefered djing at party.
Everything find an answer.

More seriously, i don't think there is a best path.
There is multiple and some will fit you better than others.
I know it is frustrating but this is what i observed.
The issue being when new to something how to make a choice?
That's why you need to look at different option and advice about them, to choose what you need.

Silvio what are the media you own and play in digital at this time? Compact Discs? Mp3? Streaming? Files played from hard disk drive (HDD)? Or maybe a NAS?

I keep on asking because i would like to try make a schematic of the options possible with what ( gear) you already own.

Almost everything I listen to at the moment comes from my HD, the files are in FLAC and WAV. I don't have proper equipment.

I got rid of everything I had by separating from a turbulent relationship 4 years ago. I bought a Mini System LBT-N555AV just to cancel the silence, I don't consider it equipment.
My DIY amp is down for lack of speakers

I have all these problems, I'm antisocial, almost a hermit.
These days I went to count my friends with the help of one hand, there were many fingers left.
I hate everything popular, I'm very pragmetic. People live a fantasy like in the movie The Matrix.
I believe that people who love music, art, sound equipment are bound to relate as a clan or as tribes.
