Will the B3 amplifier drive speakers with an impedance decrease to 1 ohm?
Yes, but not so much in class A. This ESL’s? You are probably looking for a class A/B offering.
Edit: give more info bout speakers, impedance curves and sensitivity. Mighty will answer you mighty competently 🙂
make it with enough mosfets in parallel and it will
though, for that low ohmic value of load, rails are too high, meaning - pure waste of energy
better to make dedicated construction

I build speakers and I have two options either biamping or an impedance of minimum 1.5 ohms For sure the F5 turbo is great but I want to try alternatives without NFB

There are plans for 6 pairs
^ +1 to ZM
I built a 6 pair BA-3 (vs. 3-pair) using 24V rails (vs 32). I run it at a bias current to keep my house warm in MN winters. I use it with 4 ohm speakers that dip into the 2 ohmish range.
I like it a lot.

BA-3 is amazing. If you build a 6 deep construction, with low voltage rails (choose tranny no more than dual 18v secondaries, maybe lower, and run very high Iq per device. And match MOSFETs very very close. And choose source resistors accordingly, target 0R5 or maybe even 0R3-0R22. And you should make then sing well 🙂 For such a construction, choosing a fitting chassis is challenge number 1, as Modushop does not sell sinks dissipating specced 150 watts per sink.
Edited to agree: Itsall did just this. Not 300 watts dissipation, but high enough, in 4U500.
when going wild, 5U/500
lazy to check, but I'm not sure there actually is 4U/500
in fact, just checked - you'll get 500 only with 5U

There will be two monoblocks one is 2x 60cm aluminum flat 15mmx 12cm with heat sinks 20cm high. I want to get 2A bias on transistor
0,33 🙂And choose source resistors accordingly, target 0R5 or maybe even 0R3-0R22
4U500 was picos special pimp-chassis, one-off I thinkwhen going wild, 5U/500

I think you'll be pleased.
ZM / Andy - They don't do a "stock" 4U/500, but I have two of them from a group buy. Gianluca did them for us with a modified UMS. Lovely chassis configuration for a 6 pair build.
It's perhaps overlooked, but because of the modularity, you can buy the individual heatsinks in some truly fantastic sizes (equivalent of what would be 5U / 600 (300x210) with two sinks per side) for those with serious needs for dissipation and/or a desire for lower sink temps. I'm getting better at drilling and tapping. 😀

😀
In all seriousness, if enough people committed, I am sure he would if his tooling allowed. His customer service and his commitment to DIYA is exceptional, IMO. He's done so many nice chassis for groups etc.
It would be too tall for me though.
I think.

Hah, I saw your living room. Your amps are on top of a bench! You could do 10U

Hello out there,
good suggestion from ItsAllInMyHead in post #1151!
I did exactly that for my F5T-Monoblocks a few years ago. I have ordered 8 heatsinks with a size of 250mm x 210mm and did the rest of the case on my own.
More work to build a case on your own - but classA-heat has to be transfered... temperature coefficient of one heatsink is 0,19 C°/W

I have eyes and ears everywhere 😀Do you think Luca would be in for a 6U500?![]()
Jokes aside, it's definitely possible to do this. We usually have our supplier cut a 6 meter long bar of the exact lenght we need so it would be just a matter of telling him to make it a bit longer than the usual 210mm of the 5U model.
^ You shouldn't have said that, Gianluca! You will soon see an order for two six foot sections for a guy in Norway....
Hope you have a very happy New Year!

My sincerest wishes for a happy new years celebration. Will pick up this subject, likely very soon 🙂
