Guys - I don't think there are two people with the same user name - hence "expert" or not - here many people got ripped off by a .....very doubtful individual
.

There weren't, but there were two that were close, both designing and building Class D amp boards. The one with arguably the most credibility was DoctorMord (https://www.diyaudio.com/community/members/doctormord.71814/)Guys - I don't think there are two people with the same user name - hence "expert" or not - here many people got ripped off by a .....very doubtful individual.
I have not seen test measurements of Dr Mordor’s Akita amp. He said he would provide them over a year ago and never did. They both designed amps that test and sound impressive!
The name Dr Mordor resembles the upstanding DoctorMord from Germany of 360customs.
The name Akita resembles the popular Akitika GT-102 Class AB amp from Akitika.
Do you suppose we have a case of double typo squatting here/subliminal name recognition?

Akita is the name of the family/series of Ti Class D amplifier chips, which includes the TPA325*, TPA322*, TPA324* etc.
Funny I never saw that name in all the TPA3255 data sheets that I have read. I recall they were called “Purepath” amps.Akita is the name of the family/series of Ti Class D amplifier chips, which includes the TPA325*, TPA322*, TPA324* etc.

It seems to be an early 'project name' referenced here on DIYAudio in 2015:

And on DoctorMord's own site:

I have been following this thread from the start having briefly considered chipping in to this GB. However, I quickly realised that I had mistaken this person for another forum member who had many threads and contributions who I would have placed faith in.
I noticed that there was a lot of hype generated around someone that had no track record here, no measurements of the product (promised but didn't materialise), no final product to show, poor communication and only annecdotal evidence that the units were good.
Later it was shown that safety precautions were ignored on a unit that was actually shipped.
Why did everyone jump on this so readily? What did I miss (or avoid)?
I think it is important to ask why everybody jumped on this so readily. How as the hype generated. Might help us avoid the same problem in the future.
- Sadly drMordor asked me to send the money as " friends or family " instead of "paying for goods or services" - as many do here on diyaudio.com when running group buys, and as on other occasions when I got involved in other group buys I trusted him, and when money is sent that way PayPal will not guarantee the transaction so if drMordor makes the choice to not send the Amplifier he promised then my $275 is gone for good.
- I know that one of the mistakes I made was I didn't check and I thought drMordor was one of the other well known people designing these kind of amplifiers - (DoctorMord) , and then when reading all the excitement around the group buy I got excited and jumped into the group buy too.

Yes there was the name modeled on that of a respectable member, but also a lot of fuss from an active member in this class D section.
I will not name his name, but on multiple occasions this member presented drMorder as a good friend.
Also drMorder had become active on several topics.
Is there a ready made box, containing both the TPA3255 in full power version AND the DC-DC power supply that is worth trying?
Picking the best board, without having the power supply and the case for both, is not very useful.
