Some speaker driver measurements...

Not to sound to cynical, but I don't really think Tymphany is gonna care a lot about a few DIY'ers who are unhappy.

I have heard from a very trusted source that they will have just an handful of choices in the future for DIY. Which ones I also don't know.

HDS used to be extremely popular, so don't know why you say they are being overlooked?
Tymphany has customers that are a tiny bit (much) bigger than those companies.

Those PHL drivers look a bit like stuff from LaVoce, just saying 😉

Do I think LaVoce has a better game than Peerless, BlieSMa, Purifi, SB Acoustics, Scan-Speak, some Accuton etc.. no, but it looks like they offer something interesting in the "budget" department, and who knows about the non-linear distortion.
The aforementioned have a tight grip on the construction of drivers and with contenders such as the Purifi together with S.S Elipticor woofers, it is tough being someone else. But such is the game when you have decades behind you.

One producer that have fallen into the shadows is SEAS, they just can't keep up, which is kinda sad, but I'm not a fanboy. I look at what is best and take it from there.

I think I mentioned it before, the Elipticor is probably the lowest distortion woofers currently available with Purifi at their heals at more than 50% less. I don't think a human can hear the differences, but we can see them via our screen.
Tweeters and small midranges looks to be completely owned by Stanislav at BlieSMa and BMS looks to be a very good choice for large woofers.

The Purifi’s have a beefy 4 layer voice coil, and more volume displacement. You can put the Purifi’s in a small sealed box, and with linkwitz transform can get them -3dB @30hz. And lay the power to them without worrying about burning the voice coil. And they sound best this way. This is the true intention of the design. Not for a ported cabinet. Or even passive radiator. This is why it shocks me nobody is doing this.
