I don't have a good answer for you Rhaspody about listening at low levels because I usually listen in the 70-80db range. However, the original Dayton HF seemed hesitant to move until you really turned it up.
As far as micro or any kind of dynamics the Morel is king. With many subwoofers a quick change in the song is kind of smeared over with a boom but the Morel will separate the notes, with a good dynamic punch on the beat. There are many factors but I think this is mainly due to the big coil having good control of the cone.
The IB15s are actually in a dipole setup so a ton of spl is thrown out the window in the name of a better settling time of bass in the room.
The two IB15s in dipole are about equal or slightly less potent then one AE SBP12 in the sealed box. With the dipole's having an advantage in 2nd harmonic distortion as the dipoles are in push-pull, but 3rd harmonic distortion still shows it's ugly head.

It also spawned a number of amateurs that picked mine, Danley's and few other's experienced brains, then left and started SVS among others, setting up business/'holding court' at AVS and unless he's gone out of business, a college student wound up working for Danley's new business and later started his own successful high end HIFI/HT Co..
Anyway enough 'down memory lane'; in ~short, while the RS was a simple bottom firing, top vented alignment, my 'adventures' in cardboard/plastic pipe speakers were floor/ceiling loaded with offset drivers because the crusty old one armed vet that taught me so much TL wise [gave me the NACA paper you've read] in the mid '60s was only interested in getting the most out of small/cheap 'FR' drivers, so never actually did any 'subs', nor were they needed for 'our' clientele [kids rooms, college dorms, newlyweds, etc..].
Later on my own I did some BLH subs with the driver at the floor/terminus for others at the ceiling and kinda lives on today as the general purpose 'BIB' BLH.

As for 'FR' driver offset, we used 7th harmonic since we were always trying to get them up at whatever driver/floor height was desired.

inside that simulation software is a key to other things. Unknowingly or buy some strange coincidence of numbers crossing and things are starting to add up and makes sense and then spitting out a long adventure of what the heck am I looking at over and over…. And if you look at the sim in the pic posted With this we can start to point out where in that same the numbers and the results and pressure level or electrical impedance phase / pressure phase and frequency precisely resemble the landmarks in our solar system. It’s a little bit tricky to decipher it’s a little bit weird at the same time there are miles and kilometers by the millions that equal exactly centimeters or hz as a freq location in response . in what you put into the cabinet and Mathematical version of it in radians or in centimeters it will apply to a number of different types of All of which exposed something similar and that’s trying to smash through one of those harmonics that’s just above it out of reach or using that same length in a way that compounding it or on the other end of tapped which would be paraflex or roar. Does something and not anything that either one of those designs are actively doing or ever did it is in another version of it which is only accessible through PH soon and thanks to David McBean .
It’s not exactly like that it’s all wrapped up in the dimensions of circumference of a circle so when can I can just make that claim and say that as easy as it sounds however it makes it even more interesting because in order to put all that together you have to cut the trip over your own trailBreadcrumbs many times and You literally somehow end up at the internal dimensions and specifications in the pyramid of Egypt. Not only that but the whole backstory behind that and everything about what’s going on or ever was in regards to that has such an incredible story that you can almost completely and totally verify all of the ambiguous lies or deceit full information about so many things comes through in a simulation of a A subwoofer because those numbers all the sudden I was looking at you right on your screen and not only that they repeat in a logarithmic scale.
It wouldn’t do it any justice it is cut flat out put it out to everyone to let everyone see what it is because he wouldn’t appreciate it you just glance over and say oh wow that’s weird and not understand the process or make all the connections or have the curiosity search even more and fully understand it. I cant do it justice, and I sound like a dork trying to explain anything anyhow typing it but I also have questions what the heck and how it works this way and what I would be asking would be so far into a discussion or along the way of both simulating and sharing information of what you see and where you’re going with it that I don’t think it would work in this format and certainly not to clog up shrubs thread. Which by the way that dayton 265 H E driver is spectacular as he noted!
But if there’s a way to start a thread and knowing it’s gonna take a little bit is lay down the information after the fact maybe it’ll make sense in some of you guys can see what I’m saying and beyond it further because it’s either completely amazing , or I’m completely off my rocker and neither one of those is not in question and totally probable/plausible LOL
In short : A simulation of a circle circumference exactly 360 degrees as cm, plus a small amount(after the fact in details so strangely Connected to other things in physics that require the same thing example being horoscope and zodiac symbols and your birthdate have anything to do with one of those is a farce and physics argues that by showing that exceed 12 symbols in the sky of constellations and therefore none of that can be true and your birthday and all that has nothing to do with any of that and it’s about making a Buck off people ?? for some reason is exactly what is required in this speaker making thing I’m trying to explain as well? , 12 parts will get you to the end but L4 five is still right there for a reason and that reason is in the math but in the end it seems to finish the deal perfectly and by that I mean there’s an alignment all the way out using certain numbers that never ends in this what is established and sit in a compound or is being attacked from two sides to sources it’s absolute so it’s not like a normal TL which still has this extra problem lingering in the cycle of unwrapped face of this week due to the difference between the vent and the other side at that three times quite a wave frequency this is gone but gone in a way that it leaves a pattern i’ve just bare bones on the money and you’ll notice from that because it says -990 DB at these locations?? That’s a done deal in math. and that’s hard to explain but you break a circle down into 12 parts is 30 cm and that’s what you put in the order response broken up in that matter with a few more details, Connected to other things in physics that require the same thing example being horoscope and zodiac symbols and your birthdate have anything to do with one of those is a farce and physics argues that by showing that exceed 12 symbols in the sky of cancellations and therefore none of that can be true and your birthday and all that has nothing to do with anything that two for some reason is exactly what is required in this speaker making thing I’m trying to explain as well and that’s hard to say it hard explain but you break a circle down into 12 parts is 30 cm and that’s what you put in the order response broken up in that matter with a few more details.. it will result in whatever the heck it is in physics that creates planets (And very scary landmarks of debris if you look at the meteor between built between Jupiter and Mars which clearly once looking at in this perspective is an odd harmonic that we have a very hard time dealing with in this stopper for making capacity let alone what does that say about our our own solar system if all of these numbers are as I say they are once it’s more obvious .., where they exist / the sun /earth/ etc and very specifically and this can be seen in horn. response.

For sure I did more than my fair share of 'due diligence' and yes, I tend to dole out knowledge as I understand it in bits n' pieces same as my mentors did me and try not to intentionally misguide as so many did me when I joined the audio related WWW, so kind of backed into a personal Crusade of 'lifting the veil of ignorance' every chance I get.
