I hate youtube audio videos

A dynamo that runs on the rim of the bicycle wheel, rather than on the sidewall of the tyre, is shown in my attachment.

Recently I watched a video or I should say 15 or so parts of someone that clearly had no mechanical aptitude trying to show their expertise in the construction of a cheap ebay knock off amplifier. To make matters worse the video maker purchased "Boutique" parts in an attempt to make something that was clearly inferior into something somewhat usable and claiming they could clearly hear the difference in the performance over run of the mill ordinary parts.

I'm a firm believer in a saying " You can polish a turn and it will still be a turd."
I cringed when I watched the person use a vernier caliper's jaw to scribe a line on a hideous rectangular shaped chassis that might have been suitable sitting on the lower unseen shelf in ones garage.

Its clear in my mind the extremes one would go to obtain some type of following and lets not forget that youtube check.

AS you know I am a big fan of YT videos,,I'm getting pretty good at it acutally. Speakers only.
Amp videos somewhat tell me something. But my interest is in speakers.
I can actually hear tones, coloration, distortion.
Take Zu's for instance.
If you can't hear high SPL of distortion, coloration, fatigue, well then,, what can i say.
I'm on the fence with Fostex videos. More on the side against Fostex House Sound.
They sound OK, but the choice in cds are not that good for determining performance.

Tannoy's can easily be detected as crapola.
I heard T's early this morning, Yuckyyy

I've seen plenty of videos of electric bikes, and those hoverboards, breaking into flames in garages, homes, etc, while on the charger.
As for those electric cars, they're quite dramatic when a collision causes the battery to short out and bust the whole damn car into a fireball.
Add to that the dumb vape things, cellphone repairing or damage.... fireballs too.

Plenty of videos of that too.

No thanks, no lithium ion batteries for me.

And so now you struggle to open a bag of potato chips while parking your butt on the sofa?
:D

I wish it were so, but no, the desire to move and do many things that I have pending are, but it is my lumbar spine that refuses.
I am taking opiate-based painkillers lately because conventional remedies no longer relieve pain.
The pandemic greatly complicated everything related to hospitalizations and / or operations.
In my case, you have to straighten the vertical with several prostheses, it will not be pleasant but I cannot continue like that ...:(

I have some to hate also but at least they were of one speaker system at a time and recorded @16bit - 44K with a Zoom's X-Y mic.

There's scads of absolutely senseless/horrible "autosound" raw midrange with tweeter "comparisons" with many thousands of "likes" and many accolades in their comment sections.

Those typically consist of a large table with many autosound midbass/midrange
drivers scattered on the table top. There's also an assortment of bullet tweeters. There's never any measurements. The expert will then switch wires back and between the DUT. Some "Johnny-one-note" piece of utter trash with a sharp peak ~8KHz would well win against a smooth horn tweeter.

Its fun to see praise for high-end systems whose audio track is direct from a source rather than from a miced speaker-- [at least those aren't soawful to hear...)

Well lets hope that you can maintain a better quality of life.
I also have my back aches.
Don't you just love getting old?

One day back in grad school, the university water ski club was having difficulty locating a vehicle to tow the boat 7 miles from the on campus storage facility to the lake. Both of the cars we usually use were out doing something more important, so we were stuck using an EV converted Ford Ranger pickup. This was back in 1995, when battery technology SUCKED - and we were towing a Mastercraft with it. We knew this was going to be a problem so we brought the generator with us so we could charge it while we skied till the sun went down. There’s no way we could have made it back if we didn’t have the generator with us. Even after charging for 3 or 4 hours, the battery was on fumes when we brought the truck back to the charging station. Another quarter mile and we would have been pushing it.

Sorry to learn about your spinal problem.

Thanks for your solidarity, Galu

Under the circumstances, your willingness to get up every 20 minutes to change the LP on your turntable shows true dedication to the cause.

It's that I listen when the Tramadol takes effect ... so I can get up to turn the LP over, but I only listen to one vinyl per session and per day .

At least you retain a healthy sense of humour.

Yes, I try not to lose my sense of humor, it helps to cope with sorrows :)

Thanks to you too, and no, it doesn't give me much pleasure to grow old like this, I would rather it be without this Via Crucis, it is a problem that comes from dragging by generalized osteoarthritis in the joints, I have already had other surgeries for this in the knee and the shoulder, it is not a simple back pain ...
