Something to lighten the mood

The difference between a Mathematician and an Engineer, is we Engineers call the root of -1 j ! Mathematicians persist with their ridiculous and confusing i notion. 😱

This because i to us is current, in amperes. 😀

Leonard Euler is famous for his identity e^jπ = -1. Notice I post the correct symbol for what most of you call PI.

Anyway, I have been working at a Mathematical visualisation of one of Mr. Cal Weldon's notorious brain-benders. It speaks for itself.

I have also examined the proposition of some relationship between the "Root of All Evil" 666 (2x3x3x37) and 69 (3x23). Without success. Sorry.

GOOD NEWS is everything else is just fine! More than half of the UK's energy is coming from renewable sources tonight!

Energy Dashboard - real time and historical UK energy figures, analysis and mapping

This is because our splendid South Westerly English Wind is blowing ferociously tonight, as usual:

Ventusky - Wind, Rain and Temperature Maps

I have also worked hard at Saving the Planet today. Winter hanging baskets installed. Low Carbon supper consumed. No car driven or carbon emmited. The responsibly sourced Beujolais Nouveau hitting the spot. Crisis, what Crisis? 😀

France is sending quite a lot of energy to UK by a 2000MW link.
The HVDC Cross-Channel Interconnection.
2006 data:
This supplies 5% of the electric power available in UK, that means the need of 3 millions homes.
Edit: This 5% is up to date, I see it is in "Imports" in the UK Energy Dashboard.

Have a look to the "Indiana pi bill" an attempt to give an easy value for Pi. With 3.2 proposed.....

That's not even what that bill says. Pi is not mentioned. It can be inferred the guy used 3.2, and 4, among other numbers. It was really supposed to be an easy way to square the circle.

There was a bill in another state making pi=3, for a specific commercial transaction. However the Raspberry Pi 3 has completely clouded Google's tiny mind on this subject. Can't find it now. It was about farmers and greedy power companies.

3! Was that hard? 😎

While over half of onshore turbines currently operational in the UK are located north of the border in Scotland! 😛

Alas, the Scottish Windmills seem to be fading fast this morning... and Solar panels don't work under Scotland's grey and greary skies.

Down to 25% production. We are DOOMED, DOOMED I tell ye! 🙁

Apropos this, I hear Jimmy Krankie has been put in charge of Scottish Energy. 😀

Don't worry, France is there to help with steady electricity not under wind and sun availability.
Figures from Wikipedia.
In 2018 UK electric import was 18.9 TWh for a consumption 331 of TWh. That is 5.7%, a substantial help when windmills are idling.
And we certainly can do better through DC high voltage cross channel interconnections.

I have mastered the art of multiple quotes! Now they are hard. 😎

Count the number of times that the letter F appears in the following sentence:

“Finished files are the result of years of scientific study combined with the experience of years.”

How many did you find?

3! Was that hard? 😎

It was hard for you obviously! 😀

What's wrong with 6? 😕

@AllenB. Yes it is Jam, AND squirty Cream. Porridge is inedible without it.

It's really funny with the Quaker Oats and Quaker State Oil ... the guy with the hat isn't a quaker, he's a puritan, the kind of guy that persecuted the quakers.

Spent a great hour with quakers in their quaker assembly hall in downtown Philadelphia, listening to a great and humourous talk about quakers.
And NO!!!! the guy in the hat is not one of the trustworthy, honest quakers. He's a devious, rattlesnakey villain.

PS. I eat 'sour milk' (kefir in Russian) with home-made müsli.

Here's another one for foilhatters:

Porridge is inedible without it.
Porridge tastes best after having been poured into a porridge drawer and left to set for a couple of days.

Porridge is not just for breakfast, you can put a thick slice or two in your lunchbox.

And, fried up in bacon fat or butter, a slice of porridge makes a delicious Highland dinner! 😎

A trick question then. 😡

The most foul, grey and unappetising breakfast food was undoubtedly Filboid Studge. But people will eat anything if convinced it is good for them. 🙂

Keen observers of Airplane Tail Fins will delight in this sample from Norwegian Air, doubtless for it's flights to Göteborg, surprisingly, pronounced Yotaborey if you want to ask directions in Swedish.

Actress Greta Garbo famously said "I want to be alone." She claims she was misquoted and actually said "I want to be let alone." Not many people know that.
