Thanks for letting me know that. I'm not really worried about it as that would be pointless. The PCBs are out there and I have no control whatsoever on what anyone may want to do with them. And like in your case, if asked directly I simply deny the permission to replicate the layout as a protocol.

Output characteristic will only change in that when the headphones are connected maximum output voltage will be lower, due to the 22ohm in series. So the volume pot may need to be turned a little more, depending on headphone sensitivity.
I've made preamp with same concept (variable distortion), experimented with various position of the distortion pot, and it always sound better with minimum distortion, isn't this useless then? Anyone had same conclusion?

Yes and no. Some like the setting at zero, some like a little color. The control is made variable mainly for the latter to enjoy the colors if they find it enjoyable, and for the former to see what it does with the music and then completely turn it down with a reason. 🙂
