Is American comedian Conan O'Brien well known in Canada? When I tan I wield the the sun to darken my skin.
He said he doesn't tan. I guess the sun wielding ability not something everyone is born with... 🙁
I'm sure that applies even to a "UFO phenomenon."Taking advantage of the known properties of a phenomenon is not the same as understanding its inner workings.
It wields its trajectory and speed by using the existing gravity. It's like throwing a spear with one's own strength or give it more boost by using Atlatl (spear throwing lever) which changes the centrifugal force.Or, wielding gravity with given inertia.
What happens if I don't? Will you be sending someone to my place and...Answer my post #1394.

Or should I wait till you narrow the question down to specific example or finish editing?

Yes. Without knowing what it actually is. Which is my point. What’s your point? Are you trying to equate an understanding of the inner workings of something with understanding its interaction with the physical world? These two things are not the same. I can lie outside on a sunny day and get a tan with 100% predictability without having any understanding of how the sun works. Why do you repeatedly use this false equivalent? It’s not the same thing.
I'm trying to dispel the false notion that because we don't know everything about gravity, that we don't know anything about gravity. That's the false equivalent I'm arguing against.
The effects of gravity can be explained quite precisely. They're used in everyday calculations.
How about gravity assist acceleration of satellites? These wield the curvature of space-time due to gravity to facilitate kinetic acceleration.
Examples: Voyager I, Voyager II and the Parker probe - the first two to gain energy, the last to remove it.
Taking advantage of the known properties of a phenomenon is not the same as understanding its inner workings. The “we understand gravity” people seem to disagree with this statement, and this makes no sense.
Can you quote the post that claimed "we don't know anything about gravity"?I'm trying to dispel the false notion that because we don't know everything about gravity, that we don't know anything about gravity. That's the false equivalent I'm arguing against.

You’re going from the sublime to the ridiculous here. You get a vaccination to protect you from viruses despite the fact we do not know what a virus is ie is it just a complex inanimate molecule or is it actually alive.

Avoiding the question again I see.
Are you actually capable of answering post #1394 coherently and intelligently instead of the usual semantic twerkery?
🙂

Ridiculous is implying that understanding the effects that something has on the physical world is the same as understanding its inner workings. Are you seriously saying that these two things are the same? If so, that is ridiculous.

How can something wield it’s trajectory? This makes no sense.
This thread isn’t going anywhere. Time to stop wasting time and build some amps. I’m back in once the DOD releases the next video of a UFO, which should be soon. Try to be nice to each other and try to keep JMFahey in check. I feel like he might snap.

So FTL travel is possible because although we know the effects of relativity we don’t understand the deep, fundamental underlying cause of gravity?
So FTL travel is possible because although we know the effects of relativity we don’t understand the deep, fundamental underlying cause of gravity?
The answer to this is maybe. My point is that we can’t predict what is or isnt possible with the limited model that encompasses relativity. Denying the possibility of something based on the old theories is not smart. Relativity has served us well, but it is 100 or so years old and will not take us into the future. Clinging to it is not moving forward. That said, real scientists aren’t clinging to it and are looking forward, so what happens in this thread is entertaining, but irrelevant. I’m done with this thread for now, and will not post again until there is more “insufficient” evidence from the DoD. Bye bye to all for now, and thanks for the conversations.
What is?Avoiding the question again I see.

Details and specifics be dam#ed, right? Except when it fit your narrative...usual semantic twerkery?
Pedantics again.
Nuance is lost on you. Not that the difference between the two is particularly nuanced.
Are you serious, after describing it yourself on post #1394? It's also called slingshot acceleration. How can something wield it’s trajectory? This makes no sense.
It took 40 years for the DoD to declassify this
