The Day the Earth Stood Still
It turns out that there was a small planet located in a solar system where the Sun was only seen once in thousands of years. So when that happened, it was an unrepeatable event for all its inhabitants, it would be that one time and never again in the rest of their lives ...
Moments before the wonderful event, several children were playing in a room, and when one of them said: Here comes the Sun! (George Harrison dixit?) They all ran outside, forgetting about the game, but one of them was locked inside a closet.
When he managed to get out, the Sun had already passed and everyone was marveling at the experience, and that child
He was the only being in that world who could not see the Sun ...
I never forgot this story by Ray Bradbury.
I think it was in the Martian Chronicles book.

So I think that our planet Earth should not be the only and privileged planet in the universe that houses life, which has evolved in millions of years to become what we are, humans.
I believe that something similar can be replicated somewhere in another universe, I am not concerned if we can travel at the speed of light or how long it would take to reach the nearest star. I see likely that there may be life in some galaxy, and probably more evolved than us.
I think that many deny this possibility because of religious beliefs or fear of the unknown. Galileo Galilei had to retract his reckless statements at the risk of losing his life .... This guy says that the earth revolves around the Sun? He is a heretic! To the stake with him !

Our word seems inhabited by too many kooks on the one hand, and by too many ostriches on the other.
The Real Issue
There should be little rational objection to the supposition that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe. I would expect that most mainstream scientists would not to disagree with that notion. Accusations of delusion, and other ridicule, towards UFO eyewitnesses can not, therefore, really be about the likely existence of intelligent extraterrestrial life, but rather, about whether such life somehow finds itself here. That seems the only rational objection which UFO naysayers could make. It is unproductive to focus on whether or not advanced alien life exists in the universe, which there is no way to concretely prove anyhow, when the real discussion should be over whether such advanced alien life could have made it's way here.

There is no reason to expect intelligent, technological advanced life anywhere else.
Here on Earth it took at least 3.2 billion years for single cell life forms to give rise to multicellular forms of it and another 540 million years for early humans to evolve.
Evolution itself is a blind process that does not follow a higher purpose.
Only because life exists elsewhere by no means implies that it would evolve into a technologically advanced civilization given enough time.

What? You don’t think it’s possible for there to be consensus among kooks? Our word seems inhabited by too many kooks on the one hand, and by too many ostriches on the other.
Btw, your statements are very contradictory. Backing up suggestions by suggested facts is nothing but your personal speculation.
That's your belief. There is no reason to expect intelligent, technological advanced life anywhere else.

Careful now, I can see how this could easily devolve into a debate about whether rap is actually music. 😀That's your belief.
After all, this is an audio site. 😉

There seems to be a evolutionary trend to larger brains...at least in mammals. If your prey or the predators that hunt you are more intelligent than you are then your days as a species are coming to an end.
I'm not sure that intelligence leads to "technologically advanced civilizations" but evolution does seem to lead to intelligence....

Imagine a timeline. Why place our planet with pole position on the start line? What do we know about how the other millions of planets are located on that timeline?

I do believe they are two sides of the same coin, intelligence leads to the use of tools to extend capabilities, competitiveness and survivability. Tool use drives technology advancement.
Eventually the distinction between our selves, evolved under conditions we didn’t control, and development of our technology, will blur. Since we have used intelligence to develop tools and an ability to control our environment we inevitably gain control over our own evolution and it will accelerate greatly. We will have the ability to change out of all recognition.

Imagine a timeline. Why place our planet with pole position on the start line?
It is the only one we have hard evidence for.
Also evolutionary speaking the jump from single cell organisms to multicellular lifeforms is extremely difficult as it requires cells to act against their own 'self interest' so no reason to assume that it happened elsewhere.
It took at least 3.2 billion years on Earth and there is a lot that can happen to a planet in a few billion years.
This line is the operative for the entire thread here. Which satisfies the op, full circle. It is the only one we have hard evidence for.
So I stay calm, we are unique and unrepeatable in the universe, and we are self-destructing .... !!! 😀
And all thanks to the rationality we boast so much about ...😉

Does that include evolving out of being our own worst enemy? If it does, we better hurry up! 😎Genetic engineering.

Michael Masters – Neoteny and Time Travel and UFOs
Michael Masters earned his doctorate in Anthropology in 2009 and is on the faculty of Montana Technological University. His specialty is in biological anthropology and evolutionary biology, specifically the study of fossil hominid skulls to trace trends in evolution as well as studies of the eye socket to determine the causes and solutions to visual disorders.
In 2018, he released “Identified Flying Objects: A Multidisciplinary Scientific Approach to the UFO Phenomenon,” a study of evolutionary trends which may lead humans to eventually appear like what we now describe as the popular concept of “aliens,” which is known as neoteny (“the slowing or delaying of body development, compared to non-human primates, resulting in features such as a large head, a flat face, and relatively short arms.”)
The other main premise of his book is that if we eventually begin to look like aliens, there is the possibility that we may be returning from our own evolutionary future and appear as what we know as UFOs and their occupants. We discussed the theoretical possibility that backwards time travel is possible. Masters maintained that the events of the past half century may be very interesting to anyone traveling from the future because of all the rapid changes which have occurred.
