I wonder why humans have evolved the behaviour we call ‘belief’ which has such strong repercussions in the world. The arguments about the possible existence of alien visitors, which like it or not is a topic linked to UFOs,
I accept that UFOs and aliens are linked, not unlike apples and oranges.

In the UK UFO sightings increased threefold...after Chinese paper lanterns became fashionable.
Of that, I have no doubt. I rather suspect that most UFO sightings are probably misidentified. Maybe, they are all misidentified, but I think that unlikely, given 75 years of reports, instrumented documentation and, now, a branch of the U.S. Military tacitly acknowledging the existence of the objects.
It seems to me that one may reasonably reject the notion that an alien presence is here and now. I don't see how, however, one reasonably rejects all evidence that the objects exist, whatever their origin. The possibilty of the objects being, a fantastic truth, is not in itself, sufficient reason to reject that possibility out of hand. As difficult as it may be, it seems to me that the only rational course at this time is to keep an open mind as more information comes to light.

LOL - That's a distinction which YOU raised -
"It's not clear to me that anything unusual is going on - and you jump from UFO - "Objects" straight to "Vehicles"...
I like a person who can laugh at their own notions. Which makes two of us who find humor in your suggested distinction.

"So, let's talk about the UFO vehicles".
I quoted you.
But you are entitled to your beliefs.
I hope you get some answers!

I'd love proof that aliens exist, but only "good" aliens of course. Not the ones that want to eat us or take all our water. I'm not holding my breath.
My dad told me about the time he saw a UFO. He was piloting a small plane with another guy and they saw a saucer off in the distance. Perfect UFO right out of the science fiction movies.
It wasn't doing anything odd, other than just sitting there. It got larger as they got closer. They both saw it and had no earthly explanation for it.

Do you mean multiple universes side by side or superimposed on each other in different dimensions? My feeling reside with the Multiverse idea.
Could be. A psyops operation would certainly be far less fantastic. Any one of such fantastic UFO stories is easy to dismiss by itself. It's the multiple similar stories, across time, which make that harder to simply do.
What would say was the purpose of the psyops?
What about the multiple similar stories across time that Bigfoot exists? Or the earth is flat or (insert one of a dozen other stories). Stories being the operative word.

Don't you even remember your own words? I have them quoted in my last post.
YOU are the one who raised the term, "object", in the context of my having used the term, "vehicle", in referring to UFOs. You had appeared to be criticical my use of the term, vehicle. I had only used that term generically, no intending to specify occupants, but attempted to accommodate your apparent issue with it's usage, I switched to using the term, object. No problem. However, should you, now, no longer wish to claim you own words, that your choice. In any case, this is the last I'll say about it, because your objection was rather silly in the first place.

Belief in Sasquatch and belief the earth is flat are two entirely different things. Belief in Sasquatch stems from one of two things 1) a first-hand experience which “triggers” the belief, or 2) finding the body of first hand accounts convincing on its own.
Flat earthers have more or less the same first hand experience of living on a gigantic spheroid as the rest of us; for whatever reason(s) they have elected to deny the reality of the earth’s actual shape.
If* there’s any truth to genetic memory, it makes sense that 10,000+ years of our ancestors thinking of the earth as a vast plain might make some non-zero percent of the population predisposed to flat-eartherism. Just an idea.
We’re way off topic
Same topic. Believing in questionable or wrong things with out proof. Thats why I said this thread reminds me of the cable threads.

I don’t believe anybody thinks the earth is flat, these are folk who just want to join a club, have something controversial to say, or they are simply cookoo and what they believe is irrelevant!
Agree. However there is unequivocal proof a race of humans 9' tall lived in N.America in the relatively recent past. Most likely who the "Sasquatch" were. Bigfoot is the fabled version. Abraham Lincoln had a great well known interest. There are over 3000 full skeletal examples of such people in existence. The Smithsonian is an avid collector of such.Same topic.
Or so the story goes.

Let me borrow a line...There are over 3000 full skeletal examples of such people in existence. The Smithsonian is an avid collector of such.

come on, just a quick pencil line drawing. 😀
It would be simple to blame TV but really the collapse of western religions brutal narratives is the reason such things can be discussed now.
For instance, in Nazi Germany many of the Germans "chose" to not put themselves in the shoes of the Jewish people.
You're not helping anyone, I refuse to follow you down the path of delusion.
There is this eerie feeling that in the near future, this forum may add UFO to NOT ALLOWED rule #2.

No way I could compete with yours. Besides, I have no crayons. My kids are grown and out of the house. 🙂

Perhaps. However, if these events received the open-minded skepticism which they deserve - because while it has a low probability of truth, it also has the highest possible consequence level if true - and not cognative myopia, it would be the world's #1 news story right now.
Here’s something amusing for the three Canadians in the peanut gallery:
Canada's ex-defense minister: Aliens would give us more tech if we'd stop wars
